Question about 2004 Lincoln Navigator
Hello! I'm problem is this: After the initial activation of the air suspension during start up the motor will randomly activate/turn on while at a light, driving, turning, etc. Also, the motor is noisy and makes a ratteling sound, not the way it sound when if purchased the vehicle new. I thought I read something about the more possible being loose or there maybe some kind of leake but I cannot find the forum. Hope it's something minor & a quick fix. Someone help please!!!
There have been several problems about air suspension. There is a diagnostic plug to test this system. I can not tell you about independent shops having the tools, but try Autozone or Oreillys and see if they can scan the air suspension. If not, it must go to a dealer.
The airpump units are available at Salvage yards. However, a diagnostic test will quickly show which sensor or air suspension bag is leaking. There can be high pressure, so lines must be disconnected with care.
