Question about 2005 Nissan 350Z

2005 350z Enthusiast Roadster, 33k miles loose clutch

2005 350z Enthusiast Roadster, 33k miles, I'm the only owner, live in flat FL, don't do anything race like or peel out like I stalled on a HUGE incline and my clutch seemed to be stuck in-car wouldn't move fast, crawled along, high RPM's and a terrible smell. Parked it, turned it off. Only thing that remained after 5+ hours of sitting was the smell. Ever since then the clutch has been a little loose- easier to push into the ground. The gears don't slip and the RMP's don't raise, the clutch is just easier to push in. What I'm wondering is what is the normal life of the clutch and your professional opinion on whether I need a new clutch or just clutch fluid. Also, when I called about this problem, I was told my whole engine had to be taken out of the car to look at the clutch. A new clutch would be a minimum of 3k- more if I need a new flywheel. I just really need some answers and would really appreciate any help/advise you could give me. Thanks!

You may have a clutch problem. If it doesnt slip, I would keep driving it. 33k is awfully young to need a clutch unless its been abused...... The engine does NOT have to come out, I dont know who told you that BS???? its no different than any other rwd car.

Loose or broken drive belt
Inoperative compressor or slipping compressor clutch
Defective expansion valve
Clogged expansion valve, receiver-drier or liquid refrigerant line
Blown fuse
Leaking component: any of the parts listed above or one of the A/C lines, hoses or seals. Most A/C repairs are best left to a specialist repairer or garage. Recharging the refrigerant, in particular, requires special equipment that most people don't own. There are a couple things you can do, however.
First, make sure to have the system checked regularly according to your vehicle's owner's manual - in the Scorpios case that's every 10,000 miles.
Second, if you live in a place with a cold climate, it might not make much sense to run the A/C during the winter months, but many A/C technicians recommend running your A/C system regularly, because it contains a light mineral oil in the refrigerant to keep the compressor properly lubricated. The general rule of thumb is 10 minutes per month. The Scorpio heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems also engage the A/C compressor when the distribution control is in defrost mode.

When is the next major service, for a 97 diablo roadster with 20.000 miles, and what should be the cost?. can the speedometer be easily disconnected without detection ?

Really just maybe a new air filter. Lube all your grease fittings under the car. Check your alignment as well. All this could be done under 100 dollars. 20,000 miles is really not that much. As far as the speed, there are a few things that can cause it not to work. A fuse or a loose wire could happen. With just 20,000 miles, it should be working. Is it not working?

it could just need to be serviced. on most cars your age or newer, if it doesnt sense any pressure from the pressure switch that the system is charged it wont engage the a/c pump
