Question about 1994 Buick Park Avenue
I have a 1994 park avenue with a 3.8. i will be driving around and all of a sudden the car just wants to go, i watch the RPMs go up and hit the rev limiter when my foot is all the way off the gas. The car will continue to gain speed and the rpms will go higher until i shut the car off.I have checked the pedal on the floor, and the linkage to the throttle body and their doesnt seem to be anything stuck, i have lubricated it. My check engine light is on, is their a sensor that could cause this? only happens once every couple weeks and tends to fix itself after sitting for some time.
You may have a bad ground (check a wiring diagram for where these are--the Haynes manual has good diagrams). Or, the throttle position sensor (TPS) is faulty, and should be replaced.
