Clunk sound when start up then later engine failure

this is called, Engine stall.
it has many causes.
1: lost DC power to the EFI system (corroded fuses?)
2: bad engine compression for many reasons but not doing the 60k service is #1 , for ever.
3: bad spark (and timing)
4: bad fueling, too much or too little.
we use simple cheap tools to find this problem
after doing the 60k mile service.

its old car, most i see are trash, 10 or more show stoppers.
bad. all ignored by owners. #1 is the 60k skipped.
i just restored a 91. and it had 20 stoppers.

I have a 91 RS Camaro with a 3.1liter V6. It caught fire under the dash and after repairing the wiring, carefully making sure that everything was making a good connection the car wont start. It has pulse...

If it has fuel pressure and the injectors are pulsing, then it has to be getting fuel. was it running ok before the fire?how long has the car sat? the injector should have 12v and hot when key is on, the ecm provides ground for the injectors. you said it has pulse, so its working. fuel should have approx 35-40psi

Firing order - 1 - 3 - 4 - 2

Cylinder # 1 is to the left when viewing the engine from the front of the car. They are, left to right, 1 - 2 - 3 - 4.

Looking from the side of the distributor... starting from the top right counter clockwise it's 1 - 3 - 4 - 2

91 Geo Storm stuck in Park

WD-40 the HELL out of where the cable mounts to the transmission. It could have siezed by rust or corrosion...give it a try!

Also, on a side note, you may want to have all the fluids in the car serviced as its been sitting for a while. couldnt hurt!
