How do i wire up the fog lights on a 318is E36? there already in and they were on a switch but i wont them on the propper button. so i got the button an checked out the old wiring. there was 2 wires that were briged of 2 of the wires that go on the light switch and 1 that came from the fogs. wot do i do? cheers

Very complicated discription , hard to understand if you are not a mechanic.
But anyway , sounds like a bad door switch , I don't remember if it's separate switch or it is part of a door lock. Most likely part of a door lock.
Start from checking door wire harness(broken wire) between door and the body (door opens and closes , harness bends back and forht).
If it's ok , check door locks.
The light doesn't go off because it doesn't see door closed , same reason for glass , won't close up.

check tcs senser

power steer belt/tensioners always break, but could also be down on power steer fluid (leaking on driveway?)

Have you looked down under the front bumper area where the fog lights would be located on this vehicle?

REPLACE THE FOG LAMP SWITCH DOWN ON THE STEERING COLM. REMOVE THE PROTEC. PANEL UNDER STEERING COLM. AND GENTLY START TO LOWER THE COLM. WATCH OUT FOR THE SHIFT IND. WIRE- REMOVE IT- LOWER COLM. AND HALF WAH DOWN ON THE TOP SIDE IS THE SWITCH FOR THE FOG LAMP CONTROL IF YOU HAVE ALREADY REPLACED THE ELEC. SWITCH - (PUSH BUTTON OR ROCKER STYLE ).IN THE DASH. IF - - LIGHTS AREON AND THE FOG LAMPS ARE TURNED ON AND THE HEAD LIGHT GO OUT OR WONT CHANGE FROM DIM TO BRIGHT REPLACE HIGH/LOW SWITCH ON COLM. SAME PROCEDURE AS FOG CONTOL SWITCH.

Hi can you give us more detail regarding the original clutch mark. Are you trying to replace the clutch plate?

If you bought the fog lights from Ford and they plugged into factory plugs at the front bumper, then I suspect you need the headlight switch that came optional for your car. You will need to install a relay into the fuse box. Check for any fuses for that circuit. I did one on a Ford f-150 and the switch came with the lights from Ford.Usually the fog lights are not on until you push a button or turn the switch.

look where they mount the lights connectors are probably right there

im pretty sure these cars were already prewired for fog lights .there should be some plugs behind the bumper to fit them.if not get back i will explain how to wire them up.best of luck.
