SOURCE: 2001 A6 brake light & ESP light

Your brake light swich is broken. This controls your brake lights, ABS light, and cruise control. It's a $4 part, that is attached to your brake pedal lever under your drivers side dash. After you remove the panel below the dash, its an easy do-it-yourself repair. This part has a plunger that goes in an out when you press your brake pedal.

SOURCE: How To Change Rear Brake Pads on Audi A6 2006

Remove the tires, Remove the calaper bolts, (small heads on them 12mm or so) Remove calaper, Pads are setting in a holder. Lube new pads with litheum grease and place in holder. (look at old pads, one or both may have small metel tab on one end) If the new pads have the tab, put that pad where the old pad with the tab was. (ie. tab to the inside) Press pistion in with a 'C' clamp. If it won't go in easly, it may screw in. If the parking brake cable is hooked to the calaper, it probly screws in. Use large pliers to screw in calaper piston. Place calaper over pads and install bolts (lube bolts) Rember to pump brakes befor driving . to get a solid peddle.

SOURCE: Audi A4 need to replace rear brake light on audi a4

Inside the boot is a plastic cap embeded in the boot liner. Remove the cap to reveal a screw. Undo the screw and the whole rear light cluster will come away in a sideways and not rearward direction to reveal all of the bulbs. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Audi A6 2007 rear left light, brake light and turn signals

unplug the light. you will find a bit of rust on the + contact. that's the cause. I think it sparks sometimes and the computer shuts down the whole lamp. use a nail file or smooth sandpaper to clean the contact and there you have it... good luck. ;)

Replaced brake master cylinder and now can't get the brakes bleeded.

First have someone pump the system at least five times and hold the pedal, then you open the bleeder to let the air out, close bleeder and repeat until fluid starts coming out. starting with right rear, left rear, right front and left front last. don't let fluid in master run empty.

It sounds a lot like either the bulb went out or the fuse is blown. If there isn't anything else out it's likely the bulb, otherwise, check your fuse panel.

I switched the rear taillight bulb in my 2002 audi a6 and now every time I hit the brake it beeps and the warning light comes on. how do I fix this

Check you have the right bulb installed..should be a silver bottom type in watts/check the other side for a match ...the older gold bottom bulbs are in volts and can set off the warning light.if the bulb correct then use some sand paper on the connections.any little resistance will set a code on the dash as bad bulb.
