I just spoke to ford(cause I have the same exact problem), and they told me it's sounds as if the door power lock acuator is going bad. You can buy the part for around $110(plus tax) at autozone, and have someone replace the defective one. Or, go to a ford dealership and they will replace it for some where around $249 hope this helps.

that's a tough one...are you certain the battery in the remote is in correctly, and not upside down? Is it a new battery, with enough voltage (batteries can occasionally be defective out of the pack.
As to the key not working, are you turning it the proper way? On the passenger side, try spraying a lubricant in first, in case the lock mechanism is seized.
