Question about 1990 Buick LeSabre

Won't turn off

I drove to the store, and when I went to go inside, the ignition will not turn off. It seems locked in the on position. It will turn slightly forward to turn over, but not back to off. I pulled the battery cable to kill it. I can't get the key out. How do I fix this????

It sounds like the ign. switch actuator has broken. This part is made of pot metal and the steering column must be disassambled to repair it.

P1610 and P1614 Keys won't turn for Lock Position on Ignition Lock Cylinder

Not sure what the problem here is.
The codes are for the security system - - the key is not sending a signal or the right signal for the car to start.
Could be a problem with the lock cylinder which may have a sensor for the key inside it.

Key won't go into the ignition

This is exactly what happened to my truck last night. The steering wheel moves freely. I had a hard time putting the key in the ignitition. The ignition will not turn. Neither will the shifter. It seems like it is not in park but then how did the key come out? My car is a 2004 Chevy 2500HD. Did you even get a solution to your issue?
