Question about 2002 Pontiac Firebird

2 Answers

I have a 2002 pontiac firebird v-6 3800. The heater hoses run into a part that is attached to the motor. I am trying to find the name of the part so I can replace it or find an engine diagram for that motor. Thank you. Paul Lambert

Paul, if you mean "radiator hose" then the part is the thermostat housing.

Perhaps the part is the bypass valve, which causes the heated water to "bypass" the heater core if the core is restricted.

What is causing my 90 pontiac firebird 3100. v6 to be pouring antifreeze out the back side of the motor

Most probable would be the intake gasket. Make sure heater hoses are not leaking.

2002 pontiac firebird sputtering & stalling then a smoky smell. Any idea of the cause for this?

Sounds like maybe a fuel problem, check fuel pressure regulator it may be leaking and that is the smell. Pull vacume hose off and look for fuel.

Where does the steering pump cooler go on a 2002 pontiac trans am 5.7 liter ws6?

The power steering pump has hoses that attach to the coolant pipe (silver pipe). The silver pipe is basically all coolant and inside that pipe has capillary tubes that has the power steering fluid flowing through it. It's basically an air to water power steering cooler. One hose should be coming from the power steering pump and the other should be coming from the rack.

Looking for location of heater fan on a 1978 pontiac firebird

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the hoses and wiring from the fender skirt.
  3. Remove all the fender skirt attaching bolts except those attaching the skirt to the radiator support.
  4. Pull out, then down, on the skirt. Place a block between the skirt and fender.
  5. Remove the blower-to-case attaching screws. Remove the blower assembly.
  6. Remove the blower wheel retaining nut and separate the motor and wheel.
  7. Reverse the procedure to install. The open end of the blower should be away from the motor. Use new sealer on the blower case flange.

sound like you have a clog in heater core or water valve (if it has one ) need to take off heater hoses and make sure it flows thru flush with water hose

I need to know what valve is next to the gas tank -valve that if bad causes po440 code on my 2002 pontiac firebird, also what is the name of the part and how to get to it to reove and replace it?

It's the purge canister valve valve dealer item only and is in front of the gas tank and is a easy fix. after installing it tyrn the key to run then off 5 times in 10 seconds and it should clear the code. Please rate if this was helpful.
