Question about Honda Pilot

1 Answer

I have a 2008 Honda Pilot. Today the rear tailgate light come on, and all the interior lights came on and stayed on. I got out and slammed the rear door to make sure it was closed. I then continued to drive, but when I would hit a bump in the road the rear tailgate light came back on.

The light switch nut holding the tial gate light on is loose or the wires are loose and touching. It is a easy fix look for the contact plate for the switch and see if the knob is loose tighten it up. if you don't know where it is then go to a partssstore and ask them they can show you where it is located. Since it is new It should be covered under warrenty so call your dealership and ask if it is a free repair.

Tailgate on a 01' Ford Windstar LX is rattling.

From your description, I believe your tailgate is not latching when you close it. Slamming it shut instead of simply closing it should solve your problem

2008 honda pilot tail lights wont work. Head lights , brake and signal lights work.

And the front side lights work?

Just go ahead and check the fuses to put that obvious issue away.

Once you're done with that, then go and check the rear light bulbs. We're working with the most obvious things first here.

After that, then you'll need to check any and all connections to the rear wiring loom as well as the wiring itself, all the way to the front.

I have to say at this point however, that in almost twenty years of working on cars, I have never had a wiring loom or connector issue to the rear side lights only. It's almost always the bulbs, bulb holders, or that someone has made a hash of the wiring.

Good luck.

The interior light module is not timing out. The possibility of the interior lights staying on could run your battery down over night. Replace the interior light module.

Interior light stay on

Check all door ajar switches on each door & tailgate & hatch. To disable each switch unscrew each switch seperately & unplug light goes out proves which switch is bad. Start with front doors then tailgate then rear doors. Goes by how many times that you really use each seperate door.

Rear tailgate indicator light stays on even though tailgate is closed tight. with this light staying on the doors will not lock. Is there a sensor in the tailgate door that might be obstructed.

take the panel off the tailgate and check ur tailgate latch and or switch. may need replacement . be sure not to slam the tailgate down too hard anything, could damage the latch
