LOOK LIKE THE PROBLEM IS IN THE LOCK CYLINDER TO THE IGNITION SWITCH.THIS IS A GARAGE FIX.THE WARRANTY SHOULD COVER IT.

YOUR KEY LOCK CYLINDER IS BROKE.SEE YOUR LOCK CYLINDER HAS A GEAR ATTACH TO THE END OF IT.WHEN YOU PUT YOUR KEY INTO KEY LOCK CYLINDER AND TURN THE KEY ON THE GEAR ON THE KEY LOCK CYLINDER ROTATES PULL THE RACK AND PLUNGER OUT OF THE NOTCH IN THE DISK.THE DISK IS MOUNTED ON STEERING SHAFT.THIS FREES THE STEERING SHAFT SO YOU CAN STEER THE CAR.SEE YOUR KEY LOCK IS BROKE.THE WARRANTY SHOULD COVER IT.CALL THE DEALERSHIP TO MAKE SURE.

DEALERSHIP HAS TO FIX.THEY HAVE TO GO IN STEERING COLUMN TO REPLACE THE KEY LOCK CYLINDER.REASON BRAKES FEEL STIFF YOU CAN CRANK CAR UP KEY LOCK CYLINDER IS BROKE. SO THE ABS BRAKE UNIT + BRAKES .WORK TOGETHER.YOU NEED IGNITION ON.WITH OUT POWER YOU WILL HAVE STIFF BRAKE.

My 2005 Toyota Sequioa Brake light comes on intermittently. I was told it is the abs right rear wheel sensor. Does the abs skid control computer need to be replaced as well?

Brake light switch on most model's, is adjustable, usually it is right above the brake pedal. If you look at it, usually it is round and black in color, with two wires.Their is a locking nut that hold's it in place. When you adjust the switch, you want to make sure the brake pedal is pushing the switch in, to shut brake light's off.

Ignition switch will not engage/turn to start car

Hi Beth usually when shifter is stuck there is a locking mechanism and keeps shifter from engaging unless brake is depressed to release the lock. If you hear a clicking sound when pedal is depressed then switch is probably ok and its probably the steering wheel lock. First try with your spare key to start the vehicle(old key may be worn ). If that doesn't do it then try with WD 40 a very little in ignition key hole or on the key work it slowly and see what happens. If none of these suggestions work its probably the steering wheel lock and that requires surgery. Keep me post best of luck

My 2005 Tacoma is possessed. With key out of ignition, occasionally, emergency blinkers flash and door locks repeatedly actuate. Random intervals. I've been locked out. AC/Blower also intermittantly out....

Maybe you should call a Priest??? Lol...If memory serves that falls in the years of the big frame recall. Sounds like a wire or wires may be pinched or broken. Get a Chiltons book and start tracking the wires of the individual circuts that a giving you trouble

Brakes Locking

I suspect corrosion in your master cylinder, or in one or more wheel calipers. That usually happens when the brake fluid gets old and absorbs moisture.

How long would it be since the brake fluid was flushed and replaced?

Today, after fueling up my car - I went to start the engine and the key wouldn't turn in the ignition, the steering wheel wouldn't move and I couldn't push the brake pedal down. After trying several times...

if you turned the steering wheel after shutting off the engine and the steering wheel caught the lock and tried to turn back it would hold pressure against the ignition lock cylinder. if it happens again try pulling the steering wheel hard one way or the other and turn the key at the same time.

Sounds to me like the ignition switch needs proper lubrication may want to take it out and rub some lithium grease into it.

Ignition is locked

I had the same exact problem tonight. My key would not turn the ignition. I could not start by pulling the steering wheel and the tow company could not tow it out of the garage, BUT before this happened as I was driving the car earlier in the day, I noticed it was very difficult to drive and got concerned.
