Question about 2003 Renault 181

1 Answer

Front passenger window opens by itself from time

Renault Laguna 2 aged 7 years. Front passenger window opens by itself from time to time. No switches are touched. Raining or dry weather. Window operating switches work OK normally....then - about 3 times a week - the window goes down by itself. When it is fully down, passenger window switch works to raise the window up again. It is not the window motor - as it has been changed - and it still happens. Before I take it back to the garage - please can any one help?

1995 Toyota Camry passenger power window problem

if it's only the one window it probably is not the fuse for the windows. It could be a bad window switch, if you are like me and smoke and keep your window down slightly and its raining the switch could have got damaged from moisture, That's if the switch is located on the door or is your's in the center between the 2 front seats. it sounds like the switch hope this helps.

Passenger window operates intermittingly. When it

The problem could be in the master window switch on the drivers door, or the window motor could be going out, but most likely the cause is a broken wire inside of the weather boot that runs between the door and the body of the vehicle, and the broken wire is making intermittent contact because the door is being opened and closed all the time, and sometimes the wire will touch and make the connection and that is why it only works sometimes.

Try this the next time that the window stops working, hold the window switch down in whatever direction that you want the window to go (up or down) and while holding the switch in that position open and close the drivers side door and move or wiggle around the weather boot that contains the wiring that is between the door and the body of the vehicle, and do the same for the passenger side door, if the window starts working while you are holding down the window switch and opening and closing the door or moving around the weather boot between the door and the body of the vehicle, then there is a broken wire or even wires that will need to be repaired.

The broken wire can be on either the passenger side, or most likely on the drivers side, and if you do find a broken wire or wires, then you should repair the wires by soldering them well and use the same gage wire if you need to lengthen the wire to repair it successfully, and do not use a wire connector if you want the repair to last.

Car Window on drivers side will not go up and down on

In a car of that age the most likely problem is the motor. But it can also be a rusted mechanism or a faulty connection or switch. The only way to find which is to remove the door trim and test everything.

This light is telling you that you have an Airbag Problem. You might want to Locate a Mechanic and have this Checked out. This is not something that you want to try and fix yourself as the AirBags could go off and Cost a Lot more to have the Dah and Sterring Wheel Replaced. the actual power window motor is getting old and probably needs replacement. as they age they get slower and picky about which way they want to go, outside temp also affects the operation also. in warmer weather they tend to work better

The sunroof drainage gets blocked.

your footwells will fill with water - even under your seats right to the back seats footwells

See two 10mm holes in front sides when sunroof is open.
a) push a flexible cable down from the top - it comes out just behind the front wheels. (use electric three core cable - or TV aerial cable - a hanger is too short) - you need about a metre and a half)
b) remove the inner mudgaurd behind the front wheels (2 screws) you will see the end of the plastic drainage pipes - remove the blocked black rubber cup at the end of these - why they are there is anybody's guess)
