I have a 1991 toronado trofeo and want to have the VIC display my name when it first comes on. Currently it displays the original owners name on the VIC screen. Any ideals

Hi Sammy, it's been awhile since i worked on one of these with a VIC...wished i can remember how to scroll through the prompts. However i did a find a shop manual for your Toronado that you might be interested in...these are getting rare also. I'm sure the info you need will be in it. Here is the link if you care to check it out...I hope this helps.

We have a 1990 Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo. We opened the sunroof and now it won't close. Where do we start?

There is a small panel in the headliner (usually all the way back by the window) that if you remove it will reveal a mechanism you can use to crank it closed by hand.

Electronic dash goes of and on on 1988 Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo

There is one plug that controls the whole module. Firstly, remove the steering cowling, below that you will find a large white connector. This has become loose. push it back into position. To be doubly sure you have good connectivity, drive it for a while without the cowling on, if no probems, secure it in place with insulating tape to prevent it coming apart again. If it's not under the cowling, put your hand behind the dash, follow the largest loom up to the dash and make sure it is fixed properly. Follow the loom back intowards the firewall, if there is a connector block, make sure it is in place.

Jack and secure the car Get under the car and with your legs pointing out of the front, look up at the gearbox. The starter motor will be at the base of the engine, a round tube about 5" across connected with a thick red wire. It is held in place with 18mm/3/4" bolts.

1990 trofeo door panel removal

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door
