Question about Dodge Ram 250
I have a 2000 Intrepid (POS) I replaced the tranny about 8,000 miles ago. Power steering pump works but it's noisey the other evening it was raining - coming home it almost seemed like the tranny was starting to slip again but not quite - when it went last time - it slipped like 3 x's and then gone really had to get RPM up to get it to move. This time it's driving fine - shifts when it's supposed to but it almost feels like something in the front end is dragging (not the on the ground but as in not moving properly). I'll be honest I'm a woman and I know nothing. My check engine light came on - then today drove it - same dragging thing (on dry pavement) for about 5 minutes then it didn't happen again and check engine light is off. Tonight - raining and were doing it again - any ideas? I'm totally clueless - my husband is so frustrated he wants to use the car as a boat anchor but it's my only transportation so.....
One of the biggest problem these cars have is the mass air flow sensor. if your mil light is on have someone scan your vehicle if there are lean codes or rich codes change mass air flow sensor . the maf is one of the biggest ecm inputs for the tranny.
