SOURCE: problem with my door locks on my 2000 toyota 4runner limited fwd

I wish I had the answer. But, I have the exact same problem with a 1999 4runner. Hoping someone has the answer. The dealer I purchased it from just replaced the actuator, still no good. One dealer said maybe the master switch, hopefully not, they said that part is $400. Maybe a relay going bad?

I would think the door lock actuator motors are sticking, they are very lightly built little toys.

Power lock

check door locks fuses and relays.if all is good and you cant operate door lock buttons manually problem could be in the generic electronic module.if door locks dont work from the remote battery could be dead in remote transmitter.try to reset door locks control module first obtain all remote transmitter.sit inside vechicle with all doors closed.switch ignition from off to on 8 times in 10 seconds. doors should lock then unlock.when this procedure works then press any button on any of the remote transmitter doors should lock and unlock.if all fails let dealership fix..

Lexus 93 ls400 remote not working for driver's door

if all other doors work the door lock actuator needs replaced most likely. if door switch works the same. if not then it could be a bigger problem in the circuit or remote control module. use a meter to test for signal to lock actuator. if no signal then ck control unit. if signal replace lock actuator.

1999 FORD EXPLOROR DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK STOPPED WORKING THEN I USED THE PASSENGERS SIDE LOCK TO LOCK THE DOORS NOW THAT SIDE WONT WORK AND THE REMOTE WONT LOCK THE DOORS THE ONLY ONE THAT WILL STILL LOCK...

its a problem with the immobilisor i think ,in the back drivers side behind a panel is a bosch vehicle immobilisor and the relays for the doors are in here but before you play check the door lock itself as the contacts or operating mechanism inside the door could have broke away from corrosion or the plastic clips have gone brittle allowing a shaft to come loose which will cause the problems you describe so take a door panel off and have a look for a possible cause

I recently had problems with my remotes not working on my 2004 Toy Sequoia, I was initially told that it was the remotes. Turns out it was much more than that and required that the dealership keep my SUV...

Hi, the problem you are having is not with the remotes the problem you are having is with the central locking motor, this would not have failed due to the remotes not working as the other doors lock then this would rule out the remote being at fault as its only one sensor that picks up the signal then this locks all the doors.
the problem is with the central locking motor inside the door, it may just be that a wire has come loose or if you can hear it working but it dont lock then this means the motor unit will need replacing.

either way the whole door panel has got to come off so you can get to the motor and the wires.

let me know if you need further assistance ok

plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

How do i reprogram electronic door locks

Programming Electronic Door Lock Control System NOTE: The electronic door lock control processor (14B001) erases all previous keyless entry remote transmitter (15K601) from memory when the keyless entry remote transmitters are programmed or reprogrammed. The electronic door lock control processor can store up to four keyless entry remote transmitters in memory.

  • To program (or reprogram) keyless entry remote transmitter into the electronic door lock control processor, perform the following steps:
  1. Turn ignition switch to the RUN position and momentarily short the two terminals of the program connector taped to the wire assembly and located behind the glove compartment. All doors should lock and then unlock. Remove shorting pin.
  1. Press any button on keyless entry remote transmitter. All doors should lock and then unlock to verify the keyless entry remote transmitter has been programmed. If door locks do not respond, press button again (up to three times maximum with the same keyless entry remote transmitter).
  1. Repeat the above step to program additional keyless entry remote transmitters into the electronic door lock control processor (up to four keyless entry remote transmitters maximum).
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF. All doors should lock and then unlock.
  1. Check operation.

Remote door locks won't work

There is a flash for the body control module for this problem. You need to go to the dealership to get it performed though.
