First you must pull the window control box out (pull from the front). Second there should be a cap behind the door handle, pop the cap and take the screw out. then there are few screws on the very bottom of the door panel. take the srews out and pull up on the door handle.

How to replace '96 Ford Explorer driver side exterior door handle

You will need to remove the door panel to gain access to the handle. Roll the window up or down as needed to get to the nuts that attach the handle to the door. You will also need to remove a rod the goes to the door lock. You will see the rod after the door panel is removed. Good luck.

Door panel removal for 2002 9-5 on driver rear

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls
