Have the same problem. It does not do it all the time! Check engine light comes on,dealer says nothing shows up when checking computer. Had transmission serviced,no help.
Will be shifting hard, can turn off car get back in and it is ok!
I've had this same issue with my 2006 G6 on and off for about a year now. I've had three different places (one dealership and two service places) try to determine the problem and NONE of them have been able to get an Error Code when they ran a diagnostic.
The dealership replaced the battery, my one service guy did a complete tune up, changed the oil and air filter and checked the alternator. Again, he couldn't get an error code either.
I finally read on here that it could be the speed sensor, so I replaced that. It seemed to solve the problem for approx 6 months and now it's doing it again, only worse this time.
BTW - the speed sensor itself only costs about $40 - $50 bucks, so buy the part yourself (go to any auto parts store - but let them know that you need the speed sensor that goes by the transmission, not the one for the ABS) and have a local service mechanic replace it for you. It shouldn't take more than an hour TOPS, so don't let them rip you off on the labor just because you're supplying the part.
So after replacing the battery, spark plugs and speed sensor (not to mention maintenance related work - oil/air filter changes, etc) - I still have SOME sort of an electrical problem.
I have the same problem, I was told by someone who's family member has the same car and problem, he said that it was the speed sensor. That is a $400.00 repair.

I finally got a code,P0014. Camshaft position sensor or Timing. Since the car has never been worked on related to timing i will try the sensor. If it works it will be time to try and trade for an import!
