Question about 1996 Pontiac Bonneville SE CA Value

1 Answer

I have a 1996 Pontiac Bonneville SE V-6. My heat and air stopped working. When I drive down the road it will blow when it is on certain settings like defrost. The relay is good and the a/c and heat controls has been changed. What else could it be please help.

I just changed the controls to try an elimination process. I also checked all the fuses and blower relay are good. When the dial is on defrost it work only while you are driving down the road. When you have it on heat and when you have it on A/C, but as soon as you stop, it stops blowing. It only blows like it is on low.

Back up. Who and why were there controls changed and did that fix one issue and now were on to another. Work with me here. If you go to a repair shop instead of doing your own repairs you expect to have ALL issues PROPERLY fixed. Do you have heat or a/c in any position?

2 different issues, Engine shutting off usually with your car is the ignition module under the coils, Windows usually is a broken wire in between the door and the body jam, inside the rubber tube. Might be suprised to find a couple more wires broken

hi,
i actually used to have a 1995 pontiac grand am that did the same thing....only difference was i didn't have to restart the car....usually what i would do was drop the car in neutral and gas the car and i'd notice my temp gauge go down and my heater gave heat.....chances are it's a sticky termostat. Hopefully that helped.

Heat blowing Cold when in drive. When in Park, it is warm

have you chg. any thing lately like thermostate? added any coolent to system? if not, thermostate could be stuck in the open position. if stuck open, setting still, it will throw heat, but moving coolent flows to fast and does not get a chance to get hot. if you did chg. thermostate it could have a air pocket in the system. and also adding coolent can create an air pockets too. you will know this when your traveling down the road and temp guage fluctuates up and down. witch means air in system.

Hi, I have a 1996 Pontiac Bonneville SSE. I don't have any heat, nor does the fan blow at all....is there a fuse for this, or?

yes there are fuses but there will be other instruments running off the same fuse! If everthing else seems to be fine than i would go directly to the blower located on the fire wall and change it!
