99 olds aurora washer pump or lower tank is leaking. Only info I can find to remove or inspect says remove passenger side wheel well but it's welded and not possible. Please help..

Inner wheel well or fender liner-- is what you pull
back, to get in there

Just plastic push pins & maybe a couple
of screws, then pull the plastic liner clear

Not welded

You can see & get to the top of the tank
to fill it,so you know where it is

Just get access from the wheel well

Best raise & support one side of subframe
& remove the one wheel

Use a screw driver on the two side slots ,in the push pin
heads, to pull them out (not all the way) then remove them

probably a crack orund where the pump fits in or a faulty rubber grommet. Plastic washer bottles usually crack along the mould line and it is best just to get a new bottle

Chances are the plastic reservoir tank has aged and developed hairline cracks. Best bet it to replace the plastic reservoir tank.

The washer fluid is leaking out on my 2000 - BMW 328i

Hi Friend: Check your Window Washer Canister 1st.If its Not Leaking You'll Need to Check ALL your Hoses From The Washer Canister to the 2 Spray Nozzles . And also to Your Washere Pump.Or its Posible your Washer Pump its Self has Developed a Leak.More Than likely its a Hose thats Old and Cracked, Just Follow ALL Hoses from The Washer with your Hand and Eyes.Have Someone Get into the Vehicle After You Fill your Washer Resevoir and Have the Turn your Washer On To See if It Reveals your Leak,Hope this Helps You, Please Let Me Know.If its your Canister or Hoses there Not Expensive To Replace. My window washer fluid leaks totally out when

Generally.....3 things happen.
The washer fluid plastic bottle may be cracked....not likely.
The pump (and or gasket at the pump) may be leaking ......30%.
The rubber hose pushed onto the pump to direct the washer fluid up to the window may have popped off........70% ......most likely.

How to remove the windshield washer reservoir?

I'm guessing you may have figured this out by now but I had to do it recently.

First drain the fluid from the reservoir. Then remove the car battery. Then the battery tray. I believe it was held on with about 4-5 bolts...one of which threads into a retainer clip on the reservoir itself. Now you have cleared the way to remove the reservoir. It is held in by a few bolts that are accessible from the top side and bottom both. You will have to get on your back and get to those with a ratchet. It will be obvious where these are upon inspection. And finally there is a plastic retainer that goes through the plastic inner fender into a retaining hole in the reservoir. Firmly but carefully separate it from this plastic retainer...you'll probably have to reuse it. After you do that the reservoir is free to move. Unhook the wire harnesses to the fluid pumps. Unhook the lines to the to pumps. Now just pull the reservoir out through the bottom of the car.

Done.

you can seal it. get some "plastic welding" epoxy from autozone. you need to remove and empty the tank. lightly sand around the crack and then clean it with some rubbing alcohol. then use the epoxy to seal it.

How to replace the window washer tank

did you have an accident or is it leaking? cause the problem of a leak could be the pump which can easily be removed without any tools.
