Depends on the engine. Some are between the engine and transmission at the rearward bank, some are between the cradle and the exhaust at the front bank. Neither are very fun without a hoist. The one at the rear is especially difficult.

Can anyone tell me where the starter relay is located on a 92 lincoln town car i called lincoln and they couldnt or wouldntdont know which

Open the hood of the car. Follow the positive battery cable to the first component you come to that has one or two small wire attached to it but also has another battery cable the same size bolted to the other side of the component. That is your starter relay.

When i try to start my 92 Seville it sounds like the starter is wining and wont crank over

Sounds like your starter drive located on the nose of the starter has gone bad. Time to replace your starter or you can pull the starter off of the engine and take the starter nose off and replace just the drive unit, It's a little involved with putting back together due to the brushes having to be pulled back during assembly.

good luck,

Where Is the starter located on a 92 toyota corolla?

The starter motor is located on the rear of the engine under the inlet manifold and is bolted to the bell housing part of the transmission. There will be a thick battery cable attached to the solenoid mechanism which is past of the starter.

Where is the starter located on a 1992 grand marquis?

Look for a sticker on the driver side door jam.

if your car was made up to 2/92 the starter is on the passenger side of the engine above the oil pan on side of engine block, two bolt's hold starter in place into the transmission housing.

if your car was made after 2/92 the starter is on the driver side also next to the engine block with three bolt's into the transmission housing.

Hope this was very helpful.

How do i change a starter on a 92 buick lesabre and can i get a bolt pattern for it

I dont know what you need a bolt pattern for exactly, usually you just need to locate the starter. Disconnect all the wires from it, noting their locations, and unbolt the bolts and it should come right out.

Starter on 92 jeep cherokee laredo is out

Put front end on jack stands. DO NOT WORK UNDER CAR WITH ONLY JACK HOLDING IT UP! Your life is worth more than a 20 buck pair of jack stands. Disconnect battery, negative (black) lead first, then positive (red) lead. From under car, locate starter motor. Carefully disconnect electrical cables from built-in solenoid and motor. Remove mounting bolts. Pay attention if lengths are different. Put'em back where they came from. Rock starter back and forth to break it loose. Reverse procedure for installing new starter. BTW - don't waste your money on a rebuilt unless you enjoy changing them every 12 to 18 months. Make sure you return the old starter for your core allowance refund.
