Yes thats all plus the seal. O-rings even 1/16 of an inch can hold pressures as hight as 2500 pounds per square inch. they lso have a machined end on them to acomplish this.

On each end of hose, metal ends, just below nut. There is a small indent for the O-rings. Make sure the old O-rings are not still in the pump and gear box fittings.

How to take off a fuel pressure regulator on a 2000 ford excursion

bleed off pressure by disconnecting wiring from inertia switch or pull fuse for the pump, start engine till it stalls. pressure will be zero.
pressure regulator is on fuel rail. They seldom go. If you are losing pressure overnight or low pressure ( below 40 psi), it is likely the check valve in the fuel pump in the tank.

ani_caut.gif WARNING: Do not carry personal electronic devices such as cell phones, pagers or audio equipment of any type when working on or near any fuel-related components. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury. ani_caut.gif WARNING: Fuel in the fuel system remains under high pressure even when the engine is not running. Before repairing or disconnecting any of the fuel system components, the fuel system pressure must be relieved to prevent accidental spraying of fuel causing personal injury or a fire hazard.
  1. Release the fuel system pressure. For additional information, refer to Section 310-00.
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section 414-01.
  1. Release the fuel tank filler cap and position it aside.
  1. ani_caut.gif CAUTION: Upon removing the special tool, the fitting on the end of the hose can become detained by the one way flapper valve. Carefully remove the hose using a gentle agitating motion to avoid detaching the hose from the fitting.
NOTE: The special tool must be inserted into the fuel tank filler pipe until the fitting on the end of the hose enters into the fuel tank spout, opening the one way flapper valve.
Insert the special tool into the fuel tank filler pipe.
    n0060483.gif
  1. NOTE: This step will remove approximately 1/8 tank of the fuel from a completely full fuel tank and the majority of any residual fuel in the fuel tank filler pipe.
Attach the fuel storage tanker to the special tool and remove as much fuel as possible from the fuel tank and fuel tank filler pipe.
  1. Remove the rear seat lower cushion. For additional information, refer to Section 501-10.
  1. Position the carpet and/or any insulation covering the fuel pump module access cover.
  1. Remove the 4 screws and the fuel pump module access cover.
    n0043014.gif
  1. Disconnect the fuel pump module electrical connector.
  1. Disconnect the fuel supply tube-to-fuel pump module quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to Section 310-00.
  1. Using the special tool, remove the fuel pump module lock ring retainer.
    n0043328.gif
  1. ani_caut.gif CAUTION: The fuel pump module must be handled carefully to avoid damage to the float arm.
ani_caut.gif CAUTION: Place absorbent pads on the floor pan in the immediate area in case of fuel spills. Carefully remove the fuel pump module from the vehicle to avoid fuel spillage inside the vehicle.
ani_caut.gif CAUTION: The fuel pump module will have residual fuel remaining internally, drain into a suitable container
Completely remove the fuel pump module from the fuel tank.
  1. ani_caut.gif CAUTION: Inspect the mating surfaces of the fuel pump module flange and the fuel tank O-ring seal contact surfaces. Do not polish or adjust the O-ring seal contact area of the fuel tank flange or the fuel tank. Install a new fuel pump module or fuel tank if the O-ring seal contact area is bent, scratched or corroded.
ani_caut.gif CAUTION: Make sure to install a new fuel pump module O-ring seal. Install a new lock ring if it is bent, damaged or corroded.
NOTE: To install, apply clean engine oil to the O-ring seal.
Remove the fuel pump module O-ring seal.
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Make sure the alignment tab on the fuel pump module and the fuel tank meet before tightening the fuel pump module lock ring.

How to change a fuel pump

remember you are messing with gas.so no fire, sparks and smoking allowed around car.dissconnect neg. on battery.then relieve fuel pressure by taking off gas cap.take all gas out of tank.undo fuel neck, both straps, hoses and any electrical conectors.take take out from under car.remove any dirt or debri from around fuel pump.there is a locking ring that needs to turn counterclockwise.remove fuel pump and bracket assembly.discard seal.clean pump flange, surface and seal ring groove.apply a light coat of grease to seal to hold in place during install.put seal in ring groove.install fuel pump and bracket carfully to ensure filter dont get damaged.make sure the locating keys are in keyways and seal stays in groove.hold pump in place and install locking ring finger-tight.make sure locking tabs are under the tank lock ring tabs.rotate lock ring clockwise intill it stops fully.put tank back in car.make sure all connections and lines are tight.put only 10gals in tank and check for leaks.put a fuel pressure gauge on the valve on the fuel rail.turn ignition on,but dont start.turn ignition on for 3 seconds then back to off.repeat this 5-10 times or until pressure is at 35psi.if you dont get 35psi or it drops back down check for leaks.if it stays at 35psi then remove fuel pressure gauge and start car.while running check for leaks.this is directly from ford motor co.verbatom.good luck.
