Here is a good tutorial that I've used before. You'll need another battery or a charger to power the switch:

hello there
There is a two male connector for a cigarette lighter you can mini jump your battery from there with a portable battery jumper. If that does not work, Porsche made an Emergency operating cable..it is located in your right front fender behind the black plastic lining..

2001 porsche carrera dead battery cant open the Hood?

Use jumper cables. In the fuse box (interior of the car near the pedals to the left) is a booklet with instructions. You need to slide out one of the "fuses" (it's not a fuse, but a red thing that you pull out) and connect the positive terminal of a jumper cable to it. The negative goes connected to the door latch (on the car, not door). Connect the other end to a running car's battery or a charger and you can use the regular button to open the hood and access the baterry compartment from there.

1999 911 Porsche hood latch wont pull up to open fron hood

On the 996 and 997 there is a panel on the drivers side footwell that has a fuse panel and exposes a red positive terminal that pulls out slightly. You can connect the positive lead from a battery or charger to this terminal and the negative lead to a convenient ground spot like the door catch.

I removed the battery for the winter from my 996 and went through this process in the Spring when I realized my mistake.

Battery is dead, cannot open the hood, auto power locks

I found a few solutions to your problem here:
http://en.allexperts.com/q/Porsche-795/f_4364103.htm

A lot of them have some merit, depending on whether you want to actually manually open the hood or use the inovative options posted there. Either way, i hope this helps and best of luck with your problem!

1999 porsche 911 how to open hood with dead battery

The cheapest way to get around this and get enough voltage into the system to open the hood is to purchase a cigarette lighter extension (about 3 feet) and cut off the female plug on the end. Strip the 2 wires back a few inches and attach one to the positive and the other to the negative on a set of jumper cables. Attach the other end of the negative jumper to a battery. With the keyless entry in hand, touch the positive cable to the positive terminal on the battery and press the unlock button until you hear the car doors click. Once it clicks, you should be able to use the hood latch to gain access to the battery.
