How do you reset sunroof in a 2001 Monte Carlo with 3400 model I

check fuse and relay if good than possible motor ot track problem their should be a mechanical bypass that will let you close it if stuck open the following information is courtesy of monte carlo forum
To check the condition of your original sunroof guides:
  1. Gl*** in closed position.
  2. Locate & remove 3 torx bolts on each side of sunroof glass. Lift glass out of sunroof opening & set aside in a safe place.
  3. Locate "J" shaped cover plate at front of sunroof track assembly. Remove 2 torx bolts from each cover plate.
  4. Lift up bracket to remove.
  5. Inspect the plastic guides on each side. The sunroof cables attach to guides on front outer corner. Inspect this area closely for damage.
  6. Do not operate the sunroof with the J plates removed.
Troubleshooting:
If the sunroof guides are not broken & the glass is a uniform height along the rear edge your problem may be a stripped gear inside the motor. The motor has a manual override:
  1. Get access to the motor by removing the map light/switch console or lowering the front of the headliner.
  2. Insert a large standard screwdriver into the nylon bushing at the center of the motor hub. Push up & turn the screwdriver to manually move the sunroof glass. If the unit will fully open & close manually, you most likely only need a replacement motor.

If your sunroof is stuck in the open position follow these steps to get it closed:
  1. Remove the glass.
  2. Try to close the unit without the glass. Many times one side will still be operational and close correctly.
  3. Try to slide the inoperable lift arm forward. If it moves, slide it forward until it stops.
  4. You now need to slide the original plastic guide forward to lower the arm to the closed position. Using a standard screwdriver, push it forward. The lift arm should begin to lower.
  5. If the lift arm will still not fully lower, remove the J plate as explained above, sometimes the sunroof cable will need to be lifted up to allow the guide to fully slide forward.
  6. Reinstall glass.

How do I close a partially open sunroof on a 2010 lexus 350RX

You must remove the electric drive motor located at the front of the sunroof under a plastic cover, then close the glass and reinstall the motor drive.

Cold air coming from vents when heater is on plastic flap's staying open

YES...The HVAC system has small doors throughout the unit that open and shut for air direction and heat and cool. The problem with jeep and other chrysler products is that the factory doors have weak plastic hinges that wear out sideways and the doors get stuck at a halfway point or some break and neither open or close.....Chrysler came up with a solution and re-designed the doors with aluminum hinges that seem to work quite well..it depends which door or doors are malfunctioning
for it to be an easy repair...they designed a recirculation door kit for the one under dash on the passenger side...I have changed a few of them while I worked for chrysler..A dealership scanner will tell you which doors are stuck while doing an actuator test to test the opening and closing of the doors...on the other hand you could have a clogged heater coil or a malfunctioning dash panel switch....All these will cause your problem. It is more than likely the doors are broken because it was a common problem with the jeeps that I and others have worked on...It should have been a recall but it wasnt...You will have to have it tested by a dealer or if you know someone with a drbIII scanner....you can check the heater coil easily if you have few tools and water hose to flush it out to see if it is clogged. You have to remove dash to repair some doors....you can cut it open if it is the passenger side doors under dash....it is chrysler recommended to cut it and then re-seal it after repairs.

In the driver's side trunk along the wheel well and behind the wheel well cover you will find the sunroof motor. There is a plastic knob that can be turned to close/open the roof manually. The socket tool is part of the original toolkit that came with the car, but otherwise, you can locate one that will fit. Don't use pliers as the plastic easily breaks. Meanwhile, have you looked at the fuse or toggled the switch hard to work? If the motor works, but doesn't move there is an adjutment on the motor's clutch that can be tightened. Hope this helps.

Sunroof will not close think cable or chain broke? How do you get at it to fix it. I can hear the electric motor clicking.?

This can be really tricky to get at if you want it done properly and neatly. You'd have to remove all the trim on the inside of the car that covers the headliner and then slowly pull the headliner down which will be held on by Velcro fasteners and some glue. You have to be gentle as the headliner may rip if you're too rough. Once the headliner is removed, you can get to the motor and cables

Opened the sunroof or the first time. It won't

fuse block is located behind the panel on the right side of the center console, at the bottom. Pull the panel off and the fuse is a 15A located just above a large black relay. Color is blue, and the fuse is not near another fuse.

Be sure to pull the bezel around the map light and check the connections on the switch and motor. they may be corroded.

Also the tracks tend to break very easily.

My sunroof is stuck open on my 1999 jeep grand cherokee laredo? Would it be a fuse? If so, how do you change it?

Definitely, you'll have to take a look to see if any obstruction is visible. To check the fuses first you'll need to find them. The fuse block cover should illustrate what each fuse is for. You can visibly check the fuses, with a flashlight. Just take a look at the sunroof fuse and check that its not burned. That the metal inside goes from one side to the other and its not burned or broken. You can use a test light or a multimeter, a test-light will do. I usually check them visibly, its obvious when you have a blown fuse just by looking at it. Its better just to pull out the suspected fuse to check it.

Interior sunroof shade is stuck closed

a solution that i had is that if you can open your sunroof without it opening ur shade try that then fold the shade by pushing between or in the middle of it and popout the shade. this works but try not to push to hard or you can break the plastic runners on the side of the shade. check to see if nothing is in the way of the runners. then put back the back part first then slide it all the way to the back then, do the other part and clip them back together  (there might be a little metal piece that pushes your shades back so check that first to see if its there first)
