I am writing about a 1998 honda accord ex. For the last two months, my car has been surging. However, when I press the accelerator the speed will pick back up. I went to an auto store and the information that came up was that the problem was the catalytic converter bank 1. So, I changed both sensors out and the catalytic converter. For the rest of the day, the light did not come on. Later on that night, the light came back on. So, I went to another auto store and the same information came up again. Where should I go from here?

What was the actual code? A bad o2 sensor shouldn't cause surging.

I replaced my water pump at 90,000 miles. Do I have to replace it again at 180,000? I have 182,000 on my 1998 Honda Accord EX, 5 Speed. Also how long do the clutches last? Also the paint does start fading...

firstly replacement waterpump is not time sensitive, change it when it goes.
the clutch can last from 7seconds,foot rest, to 150k if driven long distances, sometimes longer,
the paint is water based and should be waxed every year to stop it fading too badly,(good maintenance always pays off.....)red/blue are the worse.
