You'll have to remove the oil pan to access the oil pump. And no it does not have to be primed. Why do you want to replace the oil pump? Did the oil pressure gauge indicate low pressure? If so did you check the oil pressure sending unit?

check the oil level and put it on the full mark. If you enjoy turning corners at speed you may have to consider a surge bulk head in the sump to keep the oil around the pump pick up

Put in new rod and main bearings oil drops to zero after warmup 1997 2.2 honda accord put in manual gage to check for sure also put in new headgasket and rings good oil pressure to start then gone what am...

Well the cam bearings will have to do with this also,if it has them,if not it can be the wear in the cam carriers. But most likely the crankshaft journals are worn to much, the crank would need turning, and over size rod,and main bearings would need to be installed.

Repair instructions for a leaking power steering pump on a 1997 honda accord. leaking from the shft bearing behind the pulley. need instructions to replace the oil seal.

Not a simple job unless you have proper tools. You'll need a gear puller to remove the pully and a compressiondevice to install the seal and retaining ring. Try a auto junk yard for a used pump. It'll be cheaper and a simple bolt on job.
