This simply requires removal of hose and both attatching bolts of the housing to the block...restart all bolts by hand until properly started

Can anyone tell me where thermostate is on 1988 f150 straight 6

Just follow the upper radiator hose to the housing that it is connected to. Remove the radiator hose, and then the housing itself. The thermostat is under the housing. be sure to remove all the old gasket and install a new one when you put it back together.

How to change a thermostat on a 2002

You do not state what engine your vehicle has.
These directions are for the straight 6 engine;

"The thermostat comes in a housing that bolts directly to the motor, and is located on the driver side of the motor, near the bottom, instead of the top. To get to it you have to remove the battery and left front wheel. You also need a very long extension for your socket to go through the wheel well to remove, and install, the bolts holding the thermostat housing to the motor. "
If you have a different engine, post the info.

Where is the thermostat located on a 1992 toyota camry v6?

The thermostat housing is on the passenger side of the engine, under the alternator area. You cannot see it with the alternator installed. Not easy to change, but, if you do, buy a Toyota thermostat. The factory 'stats have an air-purge valve, and it is very important. The aftermarket 'stats do not have this valve. Note that when you replace the 'stat the air purge valve should be at the top of the hole in the housing (pointing straight up).
