Question about 1984 Pontiac Fiero

Where is the brake light relay on a 1984 Fiero

Where is the brake light relay on a 1984 Pontiac Fiero?

My problem is that I have no brake lights, but markers (including the tails), signals, and hazards work fine. I have not touched any wiring recently except around the 4 rear firewall relays, and that was for a fuel pump issue. Fusable links are okay as the car runs fine and all interior and exterior lighting works except brake lights. Already replaced the fuse. Haynes manual is useless for finding a single relay. Any help appreciated.

Check the brake light switch. It's located under the dash by the brake pedal. Disconnect the electrical connector from the switch. Jump the connector with a paper clip. Be careful not to let the paper clip touch a metal surface. If the brake lights come on then the problem is a faulty brake light switch.

Problem with F 750

Running lights, marker lights, and dash lights all come from the park light switch of the head light switch. So, possibly you need a new headlight switch. Or, if you have a voltmeter, you can do some testing of circuits to see where power is and where lost. Also check the fuse for tail lights and horn.

I have a 1984 fiero an when I took my stereo out I went to go turn my dash lights on and now they dont turn on why?

often circuits are run in series through the wiring harness, so a loop is created in the connections to continue to other things, In My Malibu I had to keep my original radio in the trunk wired up due to the computer and all the other stuff the radio had when replacing my factory radio with a new one

one of your runnin lights has grounded with one of the brake lights. try removing one bulb at a time and push the brakes to see where the problem is.

Tail lights don't work, but brake, flash and hazzard work.

generally when the fuse is ok and the bulb is ok the problem is corrosion of the ground wire and connection to the frame, or corrosion in the bulb sockets. for starters go to any auto parts store and get an aerosol can of contact cleaner especially for auto bulbs and connections.

My brake lights work but the tail lights and license plate light don't work every time I turn on the fuse it blows I have a 1984 pontiac fiero.

Remove all bulbs on the tail lights and license plate circuit.
Replace fuse, turn on parking lamps- check if fuse blows without any lamps connected.
If it does, check for short circuit to ground on the taillight/license plate wiring.

If it doesn't blow, re-install one lamp at a time until all lights work. you may have a faulty lamp or lampsocket.

1985 Fiero: headlight doors will not open

Your headlight motors are bad. Pre-87 cars had a terrible problem with this, upgrade them to the 87-up style. Firebird/Corvette motors are the same.
