Are you sure your coil is not bad? Souds like it is.

Test the coil, crank sensor and pickup inside the distributor. Tests are in haynes and chiltons and you need a digital multimeter. or, you can guess, and hope you're right.

Might be.

Coil is controlled by ground, not power, so you are describing a normal condition.

The crank sensor is a common cause of a "no spark" condition on these vehicles. Other things can cause the same problem though.

No power from coil

Cam shaft position sensor, if no, replace crank shaft again, some sensors are faulty brand new... Paper doesn't wear off sensor correctly.

1999 mitsubishi eclipse 2.0L na. no start. will crank. no power to coil pack. no codes. cam and crank sensor replaced. still no start or spark.

On this model engine, the power to the coil pack is delivered directly from the power transistors located inside the PCM.
If you are not getting the signal to fire going into the coil, verify you are getting a good waveform from the crank angle sensor, and that the wiring from it to the PCM is intact. If the crank sensor is delivering signal to the PCM, and the PCM is not generating pulse via the internal power transistors, the PCM has failed (the power transistors blow open, it is fairly common on this Chrysler PCM).

I have a 93 Jeep Wrangler 4.0 that cranks and doesn't wanna start. Fuel Pump is working and has good fuel pressure. Problem is coil loses power after the first start. I put in new distributor, new coil,...

Ok...you mentioned that there is no spark coming from the coil when it's in no start...Is there power from the alternator going to the coil?
One other item...If the timing chain is worn and stretched, it is possible that the cam sensor and crank sensor are out of phase with each other, just enough where a temperature difference will change starting ability.
One question...while in no start, have you tried changing the throttle position while cranking to see if it lights at part or 3/4 throttle?

MY 1999 Ford Explorer will not start.

Does the the check engine light come on when you turn the key on? Have you had it scanned? If the computer is down it might be a pcm power relay. The problem also might be a crank sensor.
