How do I Disable anti theft system in 2002 Chevy Venture that wont start

Check the wires good, that go to starter. And the starter solenoid. Clean and tighten all starter wires. By by passing, and starting it direct tells me that there has to be a problem, in wires or ignition system. see if you have power to starter by testing the wire. Sounds like no click on start=no power to starter.

hi what this is , is the pick up for the immobilizer system, what happens is when you insert your key into the ignition it disables the immobilizer and allows you to start your vehicle, it does this by, reading the chip that is in your key, when you put the key into the ignition it then matches the code from the key chip to the ignition chip which in-turn disables the immobilizer...what you are seeing is normally hid behind the steering-wheel cowling....hope this helps

2002 Ford Explorer: Security system prevents car from starting.

Your ignition requires a radio signal from a chip inside your key to start the car . Your car wont start because you are using the wrong key, your ignition is no longer able to read the key (ignition replacement), or your key is malfunctioning.

Programming Key Fob

I have just bought a Shogun Sport Equippe TD, I have not taken delivery yet but I do own a Carisma and the way you program that remote key is to turn on the ignition for 10 sec +'s then switch off and press the close button, this causes the door locks to respond.

Anti theft malfunction

Heres the skinny....the wire around the ignition switch is actually an antennea for your anti theft transponder system. the other two wires work in conjuction with the anti theft system in that it supplies power to the ignition switch itself when your key is inserted into the ignition. Inside your key is a chip which emits a certain frequency known only to your vehicle.....when this key is near the ignition switch (ie going to start the car) the antenna senses the frequency and the anti theft system powers down and powers up the ignition so you can start your vehicle. Thanks for using fixya! Any more questions shoot me a email!

Sincerely,

JC
