SOURCE: ABS and ASC warning lights stay on 2000 530d

Check to see if your brake pads and rotors are in good condition. Or if you have replaced the pads yourself and have not reset the wheel sensors this would cause the ABS Antilock Brake System light and the ASC Automatic Stability Control light to stay on as the ASC uses the ABS brakes with computer assistance to control the car

SOURCE: I have got a BMW 318i 1999 e46.the abs/asc/parkwarning lights stays on,the car was in an accident and the control arm and cv was replaced, the wires of the sensor was damaged and may have shortcicut,re

It is possible. I would look for further damage, or repairs that were not soldered. It could also be in the process of repair, the differential pressure valve got bumped off center, Parking brake switch may be out of position due to stresses on the unibody sheet metal, etc.

It is also possible the sensor you used from the junkyard may be bad. You should be able to test it with an analog meter or better yet an oscilloscope. With whell raised you can spin it, connect test leads to the sensor on a low voltage stting first- spin the tire slowly- the meter should deflect as a tooth on the sensir ring pass in front of the sensor itself. If no response on a voltage setting set meter to at leask a 1000 ohm or 10,000 ohm scale or with a scope setup, put a 1.5 volt battery cell in series with one sensor lead to put bias on the sensor that the scope can register. you may have to swap polarity of the cell if no response use a small penlight cell. The meter will have the needle deflect as the circuit resistnace changes, and a scope setup would show a square wave pattern as the sensor is turned on and off as the ring teeth pass.

There is a symbol on the dash showing a circle with a traingle and and exclamation mark in the centre

This is the ASC indicator. It comes on when the system is turned off. To get the light out, turn the system back on by pushing the ASC(dsc) button on the console. It's located just ahead of the shift lever. ASC is the Automatic Stability Control system.
It's a traction control light. it warns whenever the system is turned on and the car senses a loss of traction. you can deactivate the system by pushing the ASD(dsc) button and holding. this light will illuminate to say: you may lose traction.
Can sometimes be activated by faulty brake(ABS) sensors,ABS pump,While checking ensure that your brake pads aren't worn right down.
If the light still stays up get your local service dealer to scan cars computer for fault code relating to which sensor is perhaps faulty.
I hope this helps you or get back with your findings

ABS, Tire Pressure and Airbag Light Fault on '05 MINI Cooper

The computer you are looking for is called an ASC control unit and is located in the right hand side of the engine bay.
I advise you have the fault codes checked first as a new ASC control unit is not cheep and will require coding.

Have replaced ABS module on bmw 525 E39 and ABS now ok, but the ASC lamp will not go off on the dash and fault code 23 (incorrect coding) will not clear from system? Everyone told us the ABS ecu does not...

ABS/ASC module is faulty
CLASSIC ABS FAILURE SYMPTOMS:
- Most of the time, the problem is the ABS module or one of the 4 wheel speed sensors (& sometimes the brake pressure sensor)
- In my 2002 BMW E39 DSC, three orange (warning) cluster display lights lit, ABS, Brake, & DSC
- The 3 warning lights reset when the ignition is turned off, only to repeatedly reappear within minutes of normal driving
- The fault is often intermittent leading you to falsely believe you've resolved the problem (proper diagnosis is important)
- Sometimes the fault only appears when the engine is hot; other times only at speeds over 40 mph
- Carsoft may erroneously show a rear speed sensor failure; but just replacing the speed sensor may make no difference.
- All the work is in correct diagnosis of the problem; parts replacement is trivial (from 1 to six bolts in a few minutes)
- Hence, this BMW E39 ABS 3-warning light DIY will concentrate on understanding and diagnosis of the problem

ASC & ABS light on cluster

Check to see if your brake pads and rotors are in good condition. Or if you have replaced the pads yourself and have not reset the wheel sensors this would cause the ABS Antilock Brake System light and the ASC Automatic Stability Control light to stay on as the ASC uses the ABS brakes with computer assistance to control the traction of the car if not fixed it can effect your rev limiter slowing performance

My DSC and Brake warning lamps continuously light up in yellow once the engine has warmed up. They remain on after driving for a while and sometimes they shut off. Any ideas?
