I need to find out about the fuel pump in a 93 chevy g10 sport van is it inside the gas tank or under the van i am looking for a diagram of the engine v-8 5.0 please help

no ENGINE told, REAL name is G10 .
there are only 3 places can be,
pump on engine block (not electric)
on the fuel line anywhere from fire wall rear.
or in the tank
I just look with eyes, from front to end and bingo buy deduction the answer. most carbs run best at 7psi,
46 years old thing get changed by humans fiddling about oddly.
folks even added electric pumps .
4 engines
250,292,350,400 cu-inch engines, first 2 are 6 cylinders
the 350 has this on the side of the engine block cam driven

look ma' no wires., if blocked off plate here , see electric pumps added any where (hacks)

As with any craft tools are what is needed. You will need o remove fuel or as much as you can. raise van and you 6 ton jack stands(not the flimsy ones at parts store). A good craftsman makes the job look easy. You can watch drywall finishing looks easy until you try it.

Remove the two straps band from tank,make sure you support van good,and try to remove as much gas as you can,undo bands,tank will drop down,remove retainer ring to by turning clock wise,pull pump up out of tank,replace and go in reverse to in stall.

If you don not remove fuel the tank may be heavy depending the amount in tank, and you will get a bath in gasoline.

2 of them........First Fuel Filter

One fuel filter is in the fuel pump of the Express Chevy 3500, which is used to push fuel or gasoline through the fuel line. The fuel pump is inside the gas tank. This fuel filter is a mesh or screen that prevents large foreign particles for entering the fuel pump. Access to the fuel filter is obtained by removing the fuel tank and then the fuel pump from the fuel tank.

Second Fuel Filter Location

The second fuel filter is within the fuel line itself. After the fuel pumps extracts fuel from the gasoline tank and into the fuel line, fuel flows through the line and through another filter on the driver's side of the Express Chevy 3500 under the front wheel suspension. This fuel filter cleans the small particles that escaped from the fuel tank.

The year of your Chevy Express 3500 determines what type of fuel filter is installed on the van. The fuel tank filter is always mesh or screen, but the fuel line filter can be of three different types. Two types are snap-on filters, while one type has clip-on ends.

My 01 Chevy venture just got a new fuel pump put in gas gauge still isn't working proper so had another fuel pump put in same problem. My relay fuse is good fuel pump fuse is good. I have to have my wires checked, make sure my sensor on top of pump connector wires are good. What else can I be looking for?

no it will not work as these are 2 different style bodies.the 83 has the tanks on the outside of the frame and no fuel pump in tank.the 93 tank is located inside the frame rails and has a electric pump in the tank.

Well if theres power going to the relay but not out, then you need a new relay. If theres power in and out of the relay, you might need a new fuel pump. The electric fuel pumps inside the tank are actually lubricated by the fuel as it pumps it, and if it runs dry long enough, it can burn out the pump

Under the hood, look for the fusebox (black box with lots of wires coming out).

Check in there for any blown fuses, also, that is where your relay should be.

If you have run you van with less than 1/4 tank on a regular basis, chances are high that your fuel pump will need to be replaced. It is located inside the fuel tank, so you will have to remove the tank to get to it. To check if it is the fuel pump, look at the fuel pipes on the engine, and locate what looks like a tire valve. with a rag over your hand to catch any spray, depress the valve. If no fuel comes out, replace your fuel pump.

You will have to remove your back seat to gain access to fuel pump. Fuel tank is located in trunk. No need to take fuel tank down.
