What engine?? thats what determine if there is a belt or chain. 4 cyl = belt V6 = chain. do you mean it wont crank, or it wont run/start...BIG DIFFERENCE. on the solenoid there should be a little post that a wire slips on to, put battery power on that post. if it turns over, the solenoid and starter is good, and the power from that comes from the neutral start switch and the ignition switch. if it does not turnover, then the battery may be bad, or bad connection or bad ground.

Belt, remove the the front plastic cover which covers the Timing Belt to see if the belt is stripped of teeth, same as the old Ford Pinto motor.. remove dist cap and watch rotor rotation, see if it is spinning... Ignition Modules are a major issue with those in that year also... check module also...

Hi, I'm assuming your solenoid is not clicking. If that is the case, the problem is either the ignition switch or the interlock. The interlock is under the clutch pedal if you have a manual transmission or screwed into the transmission if you have an automatic.

87 bronco timing belt diagram

a 1987 Bronco does not have a timing belt. It uses a timing chain and gears on the crankshaft and camshaft. NO adjustment can be made or is needed. The chain will stretch over time and then replacement is the only fix.

Location of timing chain in 1987 ford bronco 11

if you check the carburettor by opening he cap' it ususally display the timing
I am not familiar with the car but \i think you mean this otherwise you mean the chain - belt
yu will need the usual old tools or ascrewdriver with the light to indicate when the right timing is on
this can be done by turnibg the carb also manually
careful as not to lose timing alltogether and not neibg able to start vehicle
