Have you checked all fuses under the hood? have you checked the fuel pump relay? you may be able to swap the fuel pump relay with amother relay in the fuse box.are you getting power into and out of the reset switch? from there it goes to the fuel pump. if power is getting to the fuel pump and it has a good ground, the the pump is bad.

Usually attached to the Sending Unit of fuel pump(in the tank). The module will get its signal from the float arm. Look for components that touch the fuel pump float arm, then trace the wires. Keep us informed =D

Where is the fuel pump relay and the reset switch (inertia) on a 1988 thunderbird turbo coupe

Relay is inside the ICM (Integrated Control Module) right ahead of the right shock tower. The inertia switch should be in the trunk, on the right side.

It is your fuel pump it has to put out at least 30psi at the fuel rail. Regardless of how much gas you think its getting its not enough. Replace the fuel pump.

There's fuel to the engine but it will not fire it

Check your inertia switch in the trunk and press to reset it. See if you hear the pump run when you turn the key. Then try to start it. If it has been awhile since fuel filter time, you could do a fuel sample and replace the filter. You must have some type of spark to ignite the starting fluid, but your TPS switch regulates fuel pressure and spark advance. A code reader would be a nice thing to use right now. You may want to look at the timing belt for shredding. I hope this helps you.
