There will be a few screws on the interior door handle, You may have to remove they little push-in screw covers. When you have done that, you have to use a hand-held (small) pry bar, and gently pop the panel out of place. (there are clips made of plastic around the whole thing, and they a very easy to break. I know it sucks but i would recommend taking your golf into your local VW dealer. You can do it yourself, but if the dealer breaks the clips, they will replcae them, if you break them, your door will never sit flush like it did before, and you will have to buy more clips to fix that.

The nearside front window is stuck down and will not wind back up

Not sure if its power windows or manual windows, you said wind so its gotta be manual, remove the door panel and make sure nothing fell apart and jammed the track, if nothing is found then the track may be broken,

It wont be pretty but examine other rear door and be familiar with retaining fixings,ie door grab handle , window winder , and any screw fixings .
Remove what you can and maybe the rear seat also (sorry) The window winder removal is easier than you think ! It's held on by a horse shoe shaped spring clip, remove with a simple shoe lace or narrow piece of cloth pulled in the opposite direction of the horse shoe clip.(don't loose) This is about as much as I can help you , after this it's a tug and pull (against snap fixxings) upward lifting motion of the panel. Good Luck

How do i fit a replacement nearside wing mirror unit, to a mercedes c180 2007 saloon. And what type of tools do i need. Thank you. J.Woods

You'll need a screw driver (philips is most common), a plastic prying lever, socket (should be 10mm, but can't remember)

If you're lucky, on the inside of the door, will be a triangular panel right behind the mirror that you can pop off. If you're not as lucky and it's one piece or the panel is blocked by the door panel, you'll need to remove the door panel to change it.

On the inside trim, you can remove screws (these screws may be covered by filler pieces or may be visible, or they may require you pry a plastic piece off that covers the screws) that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can remove the bolts holding the mirror onto the door

Had car valeted / nearside front window keeps going up and down on its own

You either have a loose wire jumping around in the switch area or, liquid or something small, like a staple got in, and is causing it to make connection from time to time. You'll have to remove the door panel to check the wiring. If the wires are tight, blow the area out to remove any liquid or debris.

I need to change the nearside rear view mirror and looks like i have to remove the interbal door panel. how can i do this?

There are hidden screws in the door handle that have to be removed first, then gently pry out at the bottom of the door panel. Lower the window and then push the whole door panel up freeing up the door panel from the upper supports. This will allow access to the inside wiring and bolt to disconnect the mirror. Make sure you don't lose any of the panel connectors and reverse above to put it back on.

Door panel removal from 2005 Honda Accord

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door
