Open the hood and find the dipstick for the tranny, passenger side up by the firewall, there are instructions most of the time on the dip stick.
have the car running and in park, on the dipstick there will be a cold mark for if the tranny is not warmed up, and a hot mark for if the tranny is at running temp. mark sure the fluid is in the checkered lines if not add fluid

Where is my transmission dipstick on a 05 equinox

There is no Transaxle level dipstick in the 3.4L Equinox engine. Chevrolet states in the owners manual that it is a zero maintenance item.
There is a bolt serviced, fill hole on the side of the transaxle case that doubles as the max fill level point where your mechanic can check the fluid level and color / smell for diagnostic purpose.
With my particular Equinox, regardless of the zero maintenance aspect of the transaxle, I plan to replace the fluid and filter at 150k miles for peace of mind.

I have a 2005 equinox and had to replace the radiator. Some Transmission fluid leaked out and I would like to "top off" the fluid. Do I have to remove the battery casing to get acces to the top...

No, you add fluid in the same hole the check stick is located. Remove teh dip stick and put funnel in teh hole and add fluid in the same location. if that is a manual transmission you will ahve to locate teh check hole on the side of the transmission, normally passenger side or rear of teh transmission and add fluid at that location. Since the lines connected to your radiator I assume you have an automatic since manual transmissions normally do not.

How to check transmission fluid level

Unfortunately you can not. Chevy put sealed transmissions on most of their cars starting in 2006. It would be out of luck if you got one without a sealed transmission. If you did, look behind the engine on the passenger side for a dipstick similar to your oil dipstick. If you dont see one, you will have to go to the dealership to have it checked.

How do i check the transmission fluid

There will be a dipstick under the hood. The handle is usually yellow. The vehicle must be running. There will be markings on the dipstick towards the bottom for the correct level of fluid.

How do you check the automatic transmission Fluid in a 2005 Equinox ?

pull out the red dipstick withe the enging warmed up and running. the fluid should appear more red than black- if it is black- fluid should be changed. level should be up to the line that says HOT but not over that line. if car is hot and level is at cold level or lower-find out correct fluid and add some 1/4 quart at a time and check level

Am I supposed to change the transmission filter in my 2005 equinox? If so when?

There is no service filter on your asin transmission. You can only flush the fluid. The fluid is NOT cheap. It takes a special fluid that is only, to my knowage, avalible at a dealership. The only filters in the transmission are for catastrophic failure. Meaning when the shop needs to take the transmisson apart when it fails.

Emergency brake light is on all the time without the brake beign on what do I need to do? on my 2005 chevy equinox

check your fluid level on the master brake cylinder resevoir(RH side to the rear of the engine compartment mounted to a large circular metal). When the fluid is low, this light will remain on. If the levels are fine, might be a possible damaged Ebrake switch or air in the system. Hopefully this helps

Where is the trans gauge on a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt?

There is no Transmission dipstick. It is all sealed. To service you need to take it to a shop or do it yourself, but be prepared to get really dirty.
