How do I disable brake warning light and buzzer on 93 LaSabre?

Brake warning light and buzzer are activated. Releasing brake does not disengage light or buzzer. Brake is not dragging. By removing Fuse #6 I can circumvent the warnings. Question #1: Please suggest why light and buzzer would be activated and Question #2: Will I lose any functions other than warning lights on instrument panel by pulling fuse #6? Thanks for your help. -- Ron

Thank you. Fuse #6 has "Ignition/Rem Acsry Cont/Instrument Cluster" on list. Checking brake fluid level.

Brake fluid was low. Buzzer went off after added more fluid. Thank you for your help.

I can't tell you what will happen from removing that fuse from the block but i would suggest checking the fluid level. Low fluid level will turn on the same light as having the parking brake on. Also are you sure the pedal is fully coming up? If a emergency brake cable is broken the pedal assembly won't return up regardless of how many times you pull the release, leaving the buzzer and indicator on. Try pulling up on the pedal and at the same time pulling the brake release. If the fluid level is good and the pedal is fully up, try disconnecting the switch on the parking brake assembly and see if that turns the light off.

It's always a good idea to check the brakes when having to add fluid. Assuming the correct fluid level once the pads were installed, that light is designed to go on about the time the pads are near their replacement thickness. You can usually take a peak through the front wheels at the pads to get a quick visual check. Also should just check the rear wheel cylinders to make sure they aren't leaking.

ABS light stays on if car is started with parking brake engaged.

The ABS light illuminates when there is an "out of specification" condition. From your description, it sounds like your parking brake cable may require tightening, or there may be an issue where the rear brakes are not properly releasing when the parking brake is released. With car that is nearly 20 years old, it is not inconceivable that the rear brakes and parking brake assembly may require regular service.

A good first step would be to have error codes read out by a local mechanic or auto parts store. This may give you a better indication of the specific problem. In any case, ANY brake warning should be taken VERY SERIOUSLY and corrected IMMEDIATELY, as you may have a potentially dangerous potential of catastrophic brake failure. PLEASE GET THE ISSUE FIXED RIGHT AWAY!

2008 GMC Sierra 1500 50,644 miles check engine light is on stabilli track warning light is on traction control warning light is on engine runs rough and wont idle transmission shifts hard

This problem seems to be the ECM (computer) to have so many things acting up at the same time. Did it all start at the same time? Its possible that you can reset the ECM by removing the hot and ground cables, wait about 15 minutes and then replace them, may fix the problem, may only temporarily fix the problem if the ecm is bad or something is setting a code to cause this. It sounds as if it is running in limp mode. Have it tested at the nearest parts store. They should be able to decipher the problem.

The exclamation light is an indicator that the transmission has a problem. Take it to a transmission place, for them to diagnose before it's too late.

The brake fliud resorvoir may have a sensor on it that is at fault. Also if the brake pads are getting very tin the light will stay on for the brake fluid is low if not filled. Fill the fluid up and see if the light goes off. The sensor if equipt will have two wires for a conection

Can i disable the headlights on in the daytime on my 2000 suzuki gran vitara, i am going through headlight bulbs very often and they are 20 dollars a pop.

They only activate when the car is in gear and the parking brake is disengaged. find the grounding wire off the parking brake lever and break the ground when brake is disengaged, you may also lose you parking brake warning light. Not sure if it's on a seperate circuit or not.
