Question about 2004 Mazda RX-8

1 Answer

My 2004 RX8's a/c usually is fine but occasionally the air blowing turns hot. I can adjust the temp dial and it will usually return to cold. Is this a faulty relay and if so, which relay?

You may think this is a no duh question, but I have to ask; considering I don't know how much you know about your car. Have you tired refilling your A/C with R-134? Your A/C will leak out the original Refrigerant over time.

Temperature Blend-mode door actuator FE01-61-A60 $371.69 list + 0.6 hrs labor book time. That is one of the most expensive I've seen.

Air conditioning does not blow cold air in my 2004 nissan x terra

If your a/c compressor kicks on and your manifold gauges show proper hi/lo readings then I would inspect the blend door. The blend door is a motor that moves back and forth when u set the temp for hot or cold . In your case, it may be stuck in the same position. The blend door is located in the dash, usually behind the glove box or in that general area. I hope you are able to fix your problem. Scott

2004 Mazda RX8 Heater problem

There is a well known problem that is a manufacturer's defect with the soldered connection on the circuit board behind the temperature knob. There is a fix to re-solder the connections but the dealer will gladly take $450 to replace it with the same bad board that will last you a while. Look for the link to show you how to fix it yourself.

Driver's side air blowing warm, won't change

Sounds like there is a crack in the vent that leads to the drivers side, and hot air from the engine is leaking through.

Fully warmed up; blowing hot and cold; Suzuki XL-7

Its just a vent damper plate not operating, it's like a gate which controls the flow of air,,usually they are operated by vacuum, or cables.
Service center time, unless you are handy with your own repairs.
