Timing cover and back plate need to come off along with both cam boxes, manifolds and front top engine support. You definitely need to get a haynes or chiltons manual to do this repair as there are specific cam settings that need to be exactly followed or the engine will trash itself on startup.. It's way too long to write out here and the manuals are only about $20...Make sure you use new cylinder head bolts. Top gasket set is about $250 + bolts.

That is not a job that you could do without special tools, the timing chain is a real SOB unless you have tools and a service manual. I would recommend a repair shop, these are famous for head problems, so dont be surprised if its cracked.

1994 quad sohc cylinder heads

It would cost anywhere from $800-$1200 to replace it and the gaskets. Cheapest way to do it is to get one from the boneyard that you can take out yourself. this will give you an idea of how it comes apart without breaking anything on your car. Then just replace the one on your car with it. Just make sure to have it machined before you put it in.

Hi I just wanted to know where and

i asked this question on my quad 4 engine, you take the cover off that is on top of the motor that says quad 4,it has 4 long bolts in it,be careful not to lose the washers that are under the bolts, pull the cover up and you will see the plug boots,no wires here, just boots, and watch the ignition module conecters there ,you can unplug it if you want, but i just angle the cover out of the way,and if you change plugs, you might as well get plug boots to.every time i take my cover off the plug boots come apart.

Spark plugs

Need more info! Which engine do you have?? I would guess at a quad engine since you can see the V-6 plugs!! There is a cover that says QUAD 4 on it. There are 4 bolts that hold the cover down that need to come out, and 4 connectors that are the plug wires that need to come off, then you can change the plugs. On the older quad engines, the plugs were known for pulling the treads out of the cylinder head! If you have a plug that is exceptionally tight, don't remove it unless you know what your doing! It can result in cylinder head replacement!! Good luck!!
