If the vehicle stalls when you pull the battery cable loose from the battery the alternator can not be good because the car would stay running. You have an issue with the charging system, Possible voltage regulator which is in the alternator. Have the alternator taken of the van and tested a the parts house.

This is EXACTLY what OCCURS when the ALTERNATER is BAD as the ALTERNATER is what RUNS ALL Electrical Components after Started. I Would HAVE Alternater BENCH TESTED. Otherwise you have a IGNITION Power Supply Problem.

2003 2.4l dash lights came on had altenater check said it was good so i put battery on it still all lights are on when i pull hot cable off battery car still dies

How was the alternator checked? I normally start by checking voltage at the battery. With the alternator working, you should see about 14 volts. If 12 or less, then the alternator isn't working.

If the alternator was checked any other way, then the wire from alternator to battery isn't connected correctly.

Battery light is on...alternator showing low voltage

I never condem an altenater till I have the battery at full voltage.Make sure the battery hasa good 30 minute slow charge then load test it.If it is good most likely bad altenater.

How to put on an alternator

disconnect positive battery cable first. Then disconnect wires on altenator then remove bolts holding altenater in place remove belt. Mount new altenater in place dont tighten bolts till you get belt back on then apply pressure to snug up belt while tightening bolts. Some times its easier to put wires back on starter before mounting just be careful not to damage wires. When this is all done reconnect positive cable and start car. While car is running disconnect positive cable if car stays running you are done reconnect cable if it does you did something wrong recheck your work. Its possible to buy a part bad right from the start.

Why no power after jumpstarting 1986 honda

Possible bad connection between batt cables and battery. Even a weak battery will power something in the car but with asbolutely no power, it's usually a bad connection somewhere. Also check the battery itself (most "sealed" batteries can still be checked by prying up the cap to check the cells).

Hi
Clean battery cables and battery posts. If that does not work you probably need a new battery.

replace the drive belt and if you have a keypad on the drivers door and it has been used alot they get shorts in them and will drain the battery so have that tested as well
