There should be a plastic plug on the inside of the door.

Rekeying door lock

It can be done at home. Remove the door panel. remove the plastic clip that is attached to the door rod, don't break it. Remove the outside door handle, pull it out. remove the clip that holds the lock cylinder. Remove the clip on the back of the cylinder. Then you can pull the cylinder out. Insert your key. With a file or grinder get rid of any excess tumblers out side of the cylinder. Use a small screw driver to push them out to make sure you get rid of all the excess. Clean up the sides of the cylinder and tumblers and make sure they move freely (I use a razor blade). Add oil. and blow them out with air. Reinsert the cylinder and make sure it works good with your key. Is so, reassemble.

My 1991 MR2 keys are worn to the point that they are beginning to not function. I want to get new keys cut at the dealer. They need to code that they say is on the passenger side lock cylinder. How does...

you need to remove the inner door panel, this is done by removing the screws that hold it in places, ( sometimes under plastic caps, that cover the screw, and sometimes inside the door pull handle ( that hole you pull the door shut with ) also,, along the bottom and sides there are clips Just grab the bottom of the door and pull out on it, work your way along the bottom and up both sides, to get the panel off you need to lift it up off the window edge,, also, inside the door release lever there is probably a screw, once removed, you need to turn the handle slightly and feed it back through the hole, you can get the retaining cover around the edge of the handle, by slipping a flat head screw driver inside next to the hinged end of the handle , and pop it outwards towards you , that gets you in the door, a plastic water shield covers the inside of the door,, Just peel it out of the way ,, you'll see a hole that contains the door lock cylinder, the arms to it are held on with little plastic clips,, and they get very brittle,, pop those off, you will see the items, (either a screw or bolt) that hold the cylinder in place, remove that

I need to replace the door handle on my '96 honda civic, how do i get it off?

Pop off the speaker grill and remove the three screws securing the panel to the door frame. You do not have to remove the screws holding the speaker to the panel. Remove the window crank. There is a "U" shaped retaining spring holding the handle to the spindle. It can be removed with a special tool or just by pressing in on the panel and loosening the clip with a small flat blade screwdriver. Remove the screws in the arm rest and above the interior door handle lever.

Pull the panel from the door - be careful of the speaker wires - carefully undo the quick connect.

From the top corner, pull down on the plastic sheet.
Remove the square white plastic box that is used as a guide for the control bars.

Locate the exterior handle mechanism. There are 2 10mm bolts that hold the handle to the door frame. Remove them with a ratchet and extension.

Pop the retaining clip (it's green for the left door) free from the lock cylinder control rod, then pull the rod from the back of the lock cylinder.
Covering the back of the lock cylinder is a metal plate. Holding the plate to the cylinder is another "U" shaped spring clip that can be pulled down with a flat blade screwdriver.

After removing this clip, the metal plate will seperate from the cylinder. The culinder can then be pulled free from the inside and the handle from the outside.

Reverse the procedure to reinstall.

Its possible that need check the Honda-Civic-1996-1998-Service-Manual-Part-III

Hope help with this (remember comment and rated this post).

I cannot open my driver isde door any longer with my key.

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can pull the seal off the door and look at the rods and mechanisms. It sounds like the rod connecting to your lock cylinder may have broken

How do I change a broken drivers side door key cylinder on a 2004 f-150?

a lot of vehicles have a metal clip/plate that you can get to when you open the door that will allow you to remove the cylinder with out remove the door panel. But on this truck I remember that it maybe apart of the handle and to get to you you do have to remove the panel to get to it. The main thing is you are looking for this slide clip that holds the cylinder in place. (if it is a part of the handle you may have to take the handle assemlby out and work on it as a unit)

Need to know how to install exterior door handles

I'm assuming that you have the coupe not convertible since I've had same problem with my 97 Dodge Avenger and this is quite common from what I have heard. The handle is held in place by two 10mm bolts. One is easily accessable, located right beside the handle with the door open. The other is a little harder to get at. The first thing you need to do is remove the inside door cover, held in place by four screws and push in clips along the bottom that pull out easily. Two of the screws are visible and in the top corners of the door panel. One screw is located behind the inside handle and once removed the moulding comes off quite easily. The other screw is in the hand hold where you pull the door closed and has a small plastic cover over it. If you have power windows you are able to disconnect the switches once the panel is off. If manual windows, the handles are usually held on by a clip that can be pushed off with a screw driver allowing you to pull of the crank handle. The window needs to be in the closed position so you can access the ONE 10mm bolt holding the outer door handle. Once the interior door panel is off, if any clips remain in the door, take them out and put them where they should be in the door cover it won't go back together properly if you don't. Now you'll need to pull down the corner of the plastic covering the door, don't remove all the plastic just enough to allow access to the bolt. I used a small rachet to get it out. It is in a stupid spot with not much room but is doable. Once out, the handle is only being held by the lock rods to the handle and lock cylinder. The lock cylinder is held by a retaining clip which can be slid off allowing the cylinder to be pushed out. The other rod connected to the handle has a plastic clip on it holding it in place. This can be opened with a small screwdriver. Once opened the rod will come out easily and the handle should come off the door. The only problem reinstalling, that I had, was reconnecting the rod to the handle and found that if you unscrew the door latch, the whole mechanism can be moved down, giving you more freedom to work with the rod. You might want to do this before fighting with the clip holding the rod in place, just a thought as I got mine apart in 20 min. Installing the new handle is quite easy, just attach rod to the handle FIRST before anything else. Once the handle is back on the door the lock cylinder can be pushed back in, it just gets in the way if you put it in the handle right away. Hope this is of some help.

Do0r handle broken on passenger side 2002 toyota sequioa

You need to remove the large yellow clip that hold the handle to the rod that goes down to the door latch assembly. Also, if the key lock is in the handle, you need to remove the clip that hooks the key cylinder to the door latch assembly.
