Question about 2000 Lexus RX 300

2 Answers

2000 Lexus RX300 clock won't hold memory. We have a 2000 Lexus RX 300. We took it in for a check engine light and to change spark plugs and timing belt. When we got it back, the clock will not hold it's memory. It will stay set as long as the engine is on and when the engine is turned off. When we turn the started on again, the clock goes to the alarm at 1:00 and we have to set the clock again. Thank you Tony

Check battery. try getting a fully charged battery, and see what happens. i had that problem when my car battery was running low. check battery fluid level too. make sure the pins are hitting the battery fluid. if not then add distilled water.

Tony none of those repairs should have affected the clock in any way. sounds like an unlucky coincedence, but you should go back to the place where repairs were performed and ask them to check it for you. a health check should be performed to se if any fault codes are present.

REPLACE SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES AND CLEAN FUEL INJECTORS. SOUND LIKE FUEL INJECTORS LEAKING FOULING OUT SPARK PLUGS WHEN YOU TURN OFF ENGINE.WHEN YOU START CAR UP NEXT MORNING CYLINDERS MISFIRING SO BAD FROM FOUL PLUGS ENOUGH SHAKE ENGINE.WHEN ENGINE RUNS FOR FEW MINUTES THAT WILL BURN OFF FOUL SPARK PLUGS UNTIL ENGINE RUN NORMAL.

Lexus 2002 RX300 - What is it when the Trac Off, VSC & Check Engine lights are on and the DTC code says cylynder 1 and 6 misfire

You could have a bad coil pack or a bad fuel injector. swap out the coil packs from the misfiring cylinders and put them in the cylinders that are known to be firing correctly to narrow it down to determine if it is the coil pack first. When is the last time you changed the spark plugs? Pull them out of the misfiring cylinders to check the condition of the plugs.

2000 lexus rx300 has check engin light with codes of 1130 and 1150. what is the problem?

Both codes indicated a failure in the outputs of your air fuel ratio sensors. Because of the fact that both sensors are reporting incorrectly, I would suggest checking your AF relay underhood for failure, or your ground wire on the back of the intake manifold for connection.

Often when these cars have spark plugs changed or valve cover gaskets changed, the ground wire on the back of the intake (which must be removed to perform the mentioned jobs) gets left dangling. With this ground wire not attached, both A/F sensors will report 0voltage, resulting in the two codes you received.
