Look at it...any bolts/brackets that attach it to the engine need to come out. any bolts you removed that also hold other items need to go back in.Use washers as spacers if a bracket goes over a mount ear on the compressor unless the new pulley is installed there.

You'll have to have unit pumped down by an e.p.a. certified tech,min$35 to remove refrigerant by federal law then remove compressor, is there any way you can just leave it on or is it bad? and just get a smaller dia belt and omit comp pulley.

Few months ago they disabled the AC and now serp belt shredded again! now they say replace compressor and hook up AC- what??? and $2000

How did they disable the ac if they didn't bypass the pully that is why the belt shredded. The compressor is probably locked up thefore unless the pully is bypassed the belts will continue to shred

Tried to replace my ac pully with a bypass pully removed all the bolts and I still can't get it budge to remove it.. I say for an hour trying but no luck help?

If you are installing a bypass pulley it will eliminate the A/C compressor thus eliminating your A/C. With that being said, you need to evacuate the system. (If there is anything in it), Remove the whole A/C compressor from the car and then install the bypass pulley where the compressor would mount to the engine. If you are trying to remove the pulley on the A/C compressor to replace it then you will need a special tool (A/C Clutch Pulley Puller) that is usually available at most auto parts store on the "Loan a Tool" programs.

How do you bypass the ac unit on a 98 Chevy Blazer?

Go to your local parts store. Ask them for a AC bypass pully. You will remove your AC pump and replace it with the pully and bracket. hope this helps.

I need to replace the air conditioner coil in my 1991 chevy s10

If your talking about the electromagnetic coil behind the air conditioning compressor clutch, then yes you have to have a special tool for removing the clutch plate and the pulley behind it. To my knowledge you have to depressurize the system before doing this.

Bypassing air compressor in a chevy 95 g20 van

Well if you're trying to bypass the air conditioning compressor, your original serpentine belt will obviously not work as it will be too long. Installing another pulley would really be more work that it's worth and likely cost a fair amount since you'd have to have a custom bracket made, or a mount to fit in place of the compressor. Your best bet would be to have your local parts supply look up the belt for the same make, model, year and engine specs as your vehicle but without Air Conditioning. The g20 uses all the same mounting locations for other belt driven accessories regardless of the presence of an AC compressor. Therefore, the belt should fit just fine. Also, you should spot on the belt routing diagram under the hood that it shows the optional routing for a belt without AC. (It does on mine anyway) Good luck and let me know how it goes.
