Trying to find out where the water pump is located on 2000 ford contour

Your water pump is internal. It will be close to the center of the engine and it will have a pully bolted to it. There should be 4 bolts holding the pully on. remove these 4 bolts and the bolts holding the pump on will be exposed. remove those bolts as well(5-7) of them. And your pump will be free. you may have to use a small flathead screwdriver to pry it out. Be sure not to leave any bearings behind when you remove it. clean entire area with puddy knife or razor blade before installing new one. Install is reverse. Hope this helps.

How do you change water pump on 2000 chevy malibu

The detailed step by step procedure is given below:
  1. First remove the tube that runs in front of the water pump by taking the 2 bolts off the motor mount and undo the plastic clamp on the hoses.
  2. Next remove the serpentine belt. This is done by taking the tension off the belt.
  3. In order to do this take a 3/8 braker bar with a short piece of pipe and put in in the tensionser.
  4. Do not remove the bolt.
  5. The 3/8 square is on the bottom of the tensioner.
  6. Apply a little pressure on the pipe and you'll be able to able to remove the belt.
  7. Now remove the 4 bolts on the water pump pully. They open to the left( a normal therad ).
  8. Now you will be able to get at the 5 bolts on the water pump. Hope this helps

1999 Buick Park Avenue water pump removal

that is not an idler pully that is the power steering pully if you feel through the holes in the pully you will feel the 13 mm head bolts that hold the pump to the block remove those bolts the pump will drop down and you can then remove the water pump also you have to remove the studs using the inverted torx end on the stud to unscrew it then the mount will come out

Thermostat

if the engine is a 2.4 liter then the thermostat is below the water pump in back of the engine. the black plastic housing with o-ring is just an outlet for coolant to flow through. when under the car the pipe that looks flat under the engine is the pipe you are looking for. to replace: remove the exhaust shield and use a long extention to remove the two small bolts below water pump. also remove the bolt holding pipe to the oil pan under car.

Im not sure what engine you have since this information was not provided. But the Power Steering Pump pulley usually has some 'holes' on the pulley in which you can get a wrench through to loosen and remove the bolt.

1991 chevy 1500 water pump removal

I'm not so certain you need to take that pulley off to get the water pump off. All the bolts should be accessible. Aren't there holes in the pulley that line up with any hidden bolts in behind? GM is well known for doing that. Rotate the pulley until you can sneak a socket through the pulley hole and get onto the bolts you need. (Unless this is a different design).
