What problems are you having currently/
12 is battery has been disconnected recently
42 is fuel pump relay circuit
45 is turbo boost, but I suspect your is non-turbo.
46 is usually charging system related.

Hello Sir, in your issue first I am giving the description of the Codes:---

  • Code 12 :--- It means that the Battery Input to the PCM has been disconnected for many last key start.
  • Code 42 :--- It means that there is a Open or Shorted condition detected in the Auto-shutdown of the Relay Circuit. Also there is a Open Condition detected in the ASD Relay Output Circuit. The same condition is detected in the Fuel Pump Relay Control Circuit. Also the same condition detected between the PCM and the Fuel Gauge Sending Unit and also the Circuit shorted in Voltage in the same path. And also the Fuel Lever Sendor is not moving.
  • Code 45 :--- It is defined as a Transmission Problem.
  • Code 46 :--- It means that the Battery Voltage sense input is above the Target Charging Voltage. It is detected during Engine Operation.
  • Code 55 :--- It is not a Fault indication. It tells the user that the Fault code Display process is finished.
And for the CEL ( Check Engine Light ), it is caused for the codes 12, 42, 45, 46. Code 55 is not a fault code as I wrote above. Call a mechanic to correct the Codes, this will reset the car's CEL and make it Fault Free.
Thank you Sir, Have a nice day.

Trouble codes 122355

I assume you mean 12 , 23 , & 55 right? If so the 12 means no ignition reference or battery has been disconnected.. (if vehicle not running during test this is OK) 23 mean there is a problem in the IAT circuit (Intake Air Temperature sensor). Could be faulty sensor or poor connection. 55 means end of code string.

Intermittantly when im in stop & go traffic my jeep 1997 grand cherokee will die (stop running). ill wait afew minuts and it starts fine & i usually get to my destination, but this is unacceptable....

self test is with the ignition key switch. you need to cycle the key off-on, off-on, off-on. The check engine light will flash out codes in pairs of numbers. The end of the test will be 5-5. report back with codes. But I'm betting its the crank position sensor.

I got the code 55 when I turned the key 3 times. Can you tell me what that code means?

Code 55 indicates end of codes. If you are retrieving codes, code 55 will indicated that you have reached the end of the code list. Code 55 will always be reported regardless of if there is another code to report or not. If you don’t receive a code 55 when retrieving codes, the power limited light may be burned out (or you may not have done the code checking procedure correctly). Good work and keep me posted for any other questions you may have.

Trouble code 321

I hope you mean: P0321, that means: Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Range/Performance
Check again and post the complete trouble code. Check engine lights serves only 2 digits! OBD System read out four digits and one letter

Engine code 95 jeep grand cherokee lerado

12 is a battery disconnect within the last 50 start cycles and 55 means the end of the diagnostic cycle.  Basically the computer found nothing wrong. The 12 code may seem incorrect if you haven't disconnected the battery recently, but from my experience the 12 code shows up almost all the time regardless.

1999 jeep grand cherokee 6cyl.check engine light stays on.

Extracting Fault Codes:
Turn the ignition switch ON, OFF, ON, OFF, ON and observe the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. The CHECK ENGINE LIGHT should begin to flash a series of codes. The flashes will be separated by short an long pauses. The long pauses separate the "ones" and "tens" positions, and each code from the next. A code 55 will be displayed at the end of the test.

Read the Fault Codes:
Here you can find the ODB Codes

Good luck!!!
