My question was "Where is the electric air(smog) pump located on a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer 4.3L.
The apparent response was "Solution chack on this site"
I don't understand what an Internet TV site has to do with my question, and I will not waste my time visiting again.

TEE fiting that join hoses on smog pump keeps melting every few miles, Already have changed smog pump with new one from dealer, and problem came right back. I was told then that problem was electrical...

With melting parts that could be an issue with the diverter valve, but the electrical issue adds a new complication to the deal. I'll have to admit, my experience with SMOG systems is limited. I don't know exactly how that shop did your electrical test, but unless they did a live test where they measured how much current draw you had during operation of the pump, I don't know how they could draw any conclusions as to if the pump is good or bad. The electrical solenoid as I understand it, is not part of the pump and is there to divert the air to the proper location and then closing during deceleration to prevent backfire. I would think since you are having issues with the fuse and melting hoses, that your diverter valve/solenoid is the issue. If none of this information is useful to you, I certainly wouldn't hold it against you to ask for a refund for this service and seek help from another member. If the information is useful, I am glad, and ask that you don't forget to rate.

Does anyone know the location of the Air Injection Reaction Pump on my 2001 Chevrolet Blazer, 4.3L? Or Know a web site that would show me what it looks like also....John

If I'm not mistaken it is underneath right behind the front bumper. Its hidden up there, you will likely have to remove plastic cover or carefully pull down on it to see it. It will have an electrical connector going to it as well as rubber hose. Here is a link that shows a pic of what it looks like.

Broken pump front lower left. Looks to be air, or smog pump. What is the name of the pump and what does it do?

There are two types of air pumps on the cadillac. First one I think of is the smog pump that is belt driven and has large rubber hoses coming off (maybe 1" or so in diameter). The second is the air pump that is electrically powered for the ride levelling in the rear with small plastic air tubes leading to the rear.

I'm not sure which one you have there, but maybe that will help.

2001 blazer air pump

Hi Gabriel_curr,

There are two air injectors on your blazer.
The air pump is located under the front bumper on the right hand side. It's about the size of a soft ball. If replaced, remember to get the breather vent extension kit. If you don't replace this, the pump will go out again due to water getting in the pump.

Hope I've helped, don't forget to rate.
