Possibly a short in the system or a disconnected cannon plug in the front bumper area...but i"d advise not to work on this system unless you're familiar with it..!!

You have a problem with a sensor, the 'brain' module, or a clock-spring.
Assuming that the car has had no accident ever, you may want to check the clock-spring first. It is a easy repair.

SOURCE: Airbag dashboard light keeps blinking. In 1997 Ford Thunderbird.

The air bag computer will have to be scanned and the code read to know what the fault the computer detects. The problem will have to be repaired for the light to shut off. Keep in mind, when the air bag light is illuminated the air bag system is deactivated. Meaning, in the event of a collision the bags won't deploy.

2014 Ford Fiesta changed out steering airbag, knee airbag and door sensor for airbag but the airbag light will not go out. All parts used were OEM ford any ideas. Disconnected battery but no change

Supplementary restraint system self checks every time the ignition is switched on and if a fault is detected it records the fault code and switches off the system leaving the light switched on.

The system often includes the seat belt pretensioners if they are fitted.

Dedicated diagnostic equipment is needed to check the fault code(s) and sometimes to reset the system after a repair.

The steering column clockspring is quite a common fault as is the wiring to the seatbelt pretensioners.

Does a ford fiesta 2011 need new airbag

Hi Dora you need to contact either a Ford dealer or go onto Fords website or I also believe there is a dedicated website for airbag recalls. You will need to google that one. Have your VIN number at hand. Good luck

The airbag light flashing on ford fiesta 2002

No that will not work ,take it to a local garage and get them to read the faults ,could just be a flat battery has caused this but it could also be the spiral under the steering column ,or the connections under the front seats

2011 ford fiesta air bag sensor location

Front crash sensors are behind the front bumper cover, side sensors (if equipped) are at the lower side of the "B" pillars. I have yet to see one "go bad" without an impact (single use sensors and must be replaced after an accident)..

Hi, the airbag light on my ford fiesta zetec diesel 1.4 is on and the horn doesnt work. what could this be please? Thanks Paul

Hi, the likely problem is the clockspring. Repair requires special tools, including a steering wheel puller. Please let me know if you would like instructions for repair, and thanks for using FixYa.

Ford fiesta 96 air bag light flashes once every few seconds, what could this problem be?

it may be the sensor is playing up as a few fords have that problem with their airbag sensors. but the best thing to do is to take it to a certified mechanic and have them test it. preferably with a scan tool. a ford dealership would have one of these.

Ford fiesta - air bag light keeps coming up. wats up with it?

Common fault on FORD

Usually due to a poor connection in the YELLOW PLASTIC CONNECTOR underneath the passenger seat.

Just push it together properly and it should clear the AirBag  fault light
