The squealing sound is more than likely the idle pulley seizing and the belt slipping. Replace the pulley and sound should go away.

2000 mercury sable ls squeaks in the front when it gets cold, what should i put on the front end joints and stuff? Highly annoying.

If it happens when the steering wheel is being turned left or right when parking, it could be dry tie rod ends. They will have to be replaced and greased up well to get rid of the sound. This happened to my dad's 1998 Ford Taurus.

The engine is starting to squeek when idling and the check charging light warning is coming on.

Sounds like your alternator is going bad, probably the bearing in it. Have it checked out.

Struts were replaced but there is still squeaking in front

possible sway bar links, strut bearing plates (they sit on top of the strut), ball joints, tie rod ends. If the you can make it squeek by pushing up and down on the front, have someone do this while trying to narrow where the noise is coming from.
