Engines are fairly cheap, especially if you can install it yourself. The big expenses come when you have to have someone else do the work for you. The 35th anniversary car is the end of an era vehicle. GM said it would no longer make Camaro. It took them 8 more years to put it back into production. It is one of the ultimate collector cars. You actually own a piece of history. I wish I had the money to get one just for ownership sake. I don't even care if I would get to drive it. It is definitley a car for people who can say I have this car just because I wanted it, not because it was the only car I could afford. You can't argue the 2002 Camaros price with the performance you get for the money. If it went to junk like that, odds are it was really being beaten on hardcore.

Lol.......I have a 1993 Pontiac Firebird with the LT1 engine, and have asked myself the same question every time I put money in it, but I still can't bare to get rid of it. If you like the car and it is in great shape then fix it. Only you can make the decision as to weather it is worth it or not. How many people do you know fix up 30's, 40's, 50's vehicles and put 1000's of dollars in them? Is the vehicle worth it to you?????? Good luck

2002 35th edition camaro will not start and alarm goes off every . time the door opens

Could be a bad BCM/Security module or a bad door latch. Try opening the passenger side first. Reach in and unlock the drivers side. If it starts, replace the drivers side latch, check wiring first though. Have the BCM codes read.

WHEN I TURN THE KEY ON MY 1997 CHEVY CAMARO IT DOES NOTHING WON'T EVEN CLICK THE STARTER. THE BATTERY IS GOOD AND HAVE LIGHTS AND POWER TO THE AIR CONDITION FAN

Not sure that it's my same problem but I found that my 2002 had a chip/resistor in the key. We measured the resistance and then went under the dash locating the red(hot) wire to the ignition switch, then cut it and built a resistor to the specs of they key and inserted it into the starter wire. Simply put, you are making the starter sense the resistance and start the car when the key is turned. Hope that helped. We searched it through google and it told us how to build the resistor. There was also a spec and directions to determine the resistance of the key.

MY 2002 CHEVY IMPALA 3.4 DRIVE FOR A WHILE THEN SHUTS OFF

Sounds like an altinator problem. Have it checked out. If your altinator is bad it will not recharge your battery while its running and cause your car to lose all electrical power. When this happens, your car will not usually run for more than 10minutes or so.
