Front or rear? Rear are replaced as an assembly. Front Have to be pressed out and in with a shop press (10 Ton Press)

What do you have removed? Did you remove the three bolts on the back of the hub? After these are removed, you can tap the rear of the hub with a mallet to gently knock it off of the spindle.

the humming sounds like a wheel bearing problem cavaliers are notorious for the bearings going out i have changed many of them, i would change both front wheel bearings at the same time and not just one it will save you in the long run. hope this helped

My 1991 cavalier is a 2.2ltr 4 cyl. 3spd auto, front wheel drive. when I drive it I hear from the right (passenger side) front tire a deep loping whirring sound....I am leaning towards the bearing or...

Deep growling sound could well be a bad wheel bearing. A bad cv joint will generally make a click or clacking sound, usually while only turning. While driving, you can often change the pitch of a bad wheel bearing with a slight turn of the steering wheel (note - slightly, no crazy zig-zag). What you're doing is shifting the weight on/off of this bearing and the pitch will change if it's bad. Only way to verify is to remove it and feel it in hand. It's a sealed hub/bearing assembly and only replaceable, not serviceable.

Need front wheel bearings for 96 Cavalier. Help

the proper method is to remove the steering knuckle and press the new bearing out and in, it probably also throw the i alignment out, so a shop is a good idea

Need to know how to install wheel bearings on a chevy cavalier

1) Break the torque on the center wheel nut and remove the nut and washer before jacking up the front end. 2) Jack up the front and remove the tire. 3) Remove the brake caliper and rotor. 4) After removing the rotor you will see the bearing assy. There are 3 torx bolts holding it on. You need to put the transmission in neutral to turn the hub and line up the hole to remove the bolts. 4) Knock it loose with a hammer and install in reverse order. The kit comes with a seal but I don't believe it's needed on a 96. Pretty simple job really... Good Luck.

I need to change right front wheel bearing on 96 honda accord

It's not a easy job you will need a press to take the old one out and replace the new one, my advice to you is take the steering knockle out and have your local shop press the bearing out for you and put the new one in. This way you just have to bolt everything back up and your good to go.

How to change wheel bearings on a 96 cavalier

The wheel bearings on your car is contained in a sealed wheel hub. You have to change the whole hub to change the bearing. Remove the wheel, the brake caliper, the rotor. There will be three bolts holding the hub on from the back. You will need to remove these bolts and slide the hub off of the spindle. then grease the spindle slide on your new hub and bolt everything back together.
