I Let my chevy Blazer run out of gas,nw it wont start even though the relay and fuelpump is working.

Is it electric or mechanical pump? Electric is with fuel injection. If its fuel injection, you should hear the pump run when you turn ignition switch. If u don't hear it, try starting, if no, turn off then on. It will self prime. Carburetor is with mechanical pump. I usually put few drops of gas in the carb. Start it, if no, more in carb till it stays running.

It wont start unless i put gas in the port.i dont hear the fuel pump either

You need to verify that a ground, and positive voltage is getting to the fuel pump harness right after you cycle the ignition key on. (It will kick off after a few seconds, this is normal) If you have good power, your pump is bad.

How to check for a bad fuel pump in a "99" blazer, 4.3 motor? I sprayed starting fluid in air fillter and it would fire but not run.

If gas and starting fluid does not create a spark I believe the coils or ignition module is your problem
To check the fuel pump turn the key to the on position without trying to start the engine. Once turned to to on position the fuel pump will run for 5 secounds to prime fuel pressure to the injectors. If heard running you have a problem above as mentioned

Car won't start

I had the same problem it was the fuel pump itself. Have it pressure line tested, if it is lower then 60 psi then its bad. Mine was reading 55psi and would not start my blazer. If i sprayed starter fluid in the throttle body vrrrm start right up. This is because (what I was told) it is a high pressure furl system. also make sure the line you replaced is installed right and is right line

I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer, that I think has ran low on gas.

If it ran out of gas you'll need to purge the air out of the fuel line. Chances are also good that you pulled some sediment off the tank bottom and clogged the filter. If that's the case you'll need to replace the filter.

1999 chevy blazer wont start

THE FUEL PUMP IS BAD.

if your losing fuel pressure after the pump runs the drain back valve in the pump has failed.

and i doubt that you are seeing enough fuel pressure to run a vortec engine.

low fuel pressure equals a non running vortec

The plug on the fuel pumps are common for being bad and burning up the pumps. But the new pump will come with a new plug.

1999 chevy blazer fuel problem

probably not fuel filter . probably going to have to remove the upper intake and replace the fuel injector spider(fuel inj assebly) if it is droping fuel pressure it is leaking into the upper manifold

Check the fuse under the dash. Did you replace the inline fuel filter? If not, you could loosen the line going into the filter then turn the key to the on position. The pump should run for about 2 seconds then the relay should kick off. Turn off the key for approx. 5 seconds then cycle key back on and the pump should cycle again. If you get a 2 second burst of fuel each time then the pump is cycling. Install a new fuel filter and check the grounded wire by the tank. Hope this helps. :)
